Acura TLX 2021 (Type S): the new generation of the sports sedan.

The Acura TLX premium sports sedan, which has been sold around the world since 2014, has not gained much fame, although it looked more than worthy against competitors, including BMW’s «triplets».

In 2021, a Honda subsidiary will sell a qualitatively different car under the name TLX 2021, but with the retained DNA of the first generation.

There will also be a «charged» version of the Type S, which promises to be the «fastest sedan» in Acura’s history and boast benchmark handling.

Review

The company really went for a radical modernization of the model, replacing it with everything from the platform to the engines.

The new version became longer and wider, the wheelbase and wheel track increased (+30 and +41 mm front/rear), and the distance of «prestige» between the front body pillars and the axle received additional 198 mm.

Body

The front end weight increase due to greater length has not happened, as the 2021 model year Acura TLX will be equipped with aluminum fenders and hood.

Interior

The completely redesigned interior turned out to be more spacious and with new trim materials. Added to this is the exceptional build quality and very original layout of the front console.

The intricate central part perfectly blends with the new design of the multirole, as well as the analog «dashboard».

Japanese deliberately did not put virtual dials in its place, although placed between the classic circles 8-inch color screen trip computer.

Another 10.2-inch display is installed in the center of the torpedo, and it is controlled with the help of True Touchpad, located on the central tunnel.

Technical features

Atmospheric engines are a thing of the past: now the Acura TLX will show their hot temper with the help of turbo engines, and the base version will be a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit rated at 276 hp. (380 Nm).

For the modification of Acura TLX Type S sedan prepared more powerful engine — 3.0-liter «turbo-six», whose power reaches 360 hp. (torque — 480 Nm).

The new Acura TLX 2021 model year is still probing demand on the U.S. market, where it is already offered in its base Base version for $3,825,000.

The cost of the most expensive Type S variant starts from a mark 50000 dollars.

The official arrival of the model in Russia is not yet discussed, as Acura has officially left the Russian market, nevertheless you can order the car from the U.S., though you will have to pay extra for the duty.
