The British have added power to the 2022 Aston Martin DB11.

Aston Martin has unveiled a slightly updated 2022 DB11 supercar. New wheels and several additional interior trim options are now available for the car.

The list of options has been expanded with the option to order Sports Plus Seats front seats with more developed lateral support.

The main innovation was an increase in the power of the base version of the model, equipped with a 4.0-liter AMG V8 biturbo engine: the output of the latter now reaches 535 hp. (+ 25), although the torque remains the same — 675 Nm.

The 2022 Aston Martin DB11 V8’s acceleration from zero to one hundred percent remains the same, which means the hard-top coupe does the job in 4.0 seconds, and the convertible in 4.1 seconds.

At the same time, the maximum speed of the two-door has grown — up to 309 km / h (+ 9).

The performance of the Aston Martin DB11 AMR variant, equipped with a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12, remains unchanged. As before, the engine produces 639 forces (700 Nm) here.

In addition, the British renamed this modification, and henceforth it is called «DB11 V12». As before, this version of the supercar can only be ordered as a coupe.

The top version of the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera was also renamed — now it is simply «Aston Martin DBS».

The power of the 5.2-liter V12 it put is 725 «mares» and 900 Nm, that is, it has not become more productive. The flagship can be ordered either as a coupe or as a Volante convertible.

Green luxury: successors to the Aston Martin Vantage and DB11 will receive only electric «stuffing».

According to the CEO of the British brand Tobias Moers, the first electric car will appear in 2025 (most likely it will be the heir to the DB11).

Last year, due to the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, turned out to be difficult for many, including for automobile companies that develop and produce luxury cars.

This is also true for Aston Martin: in 2020, dealers of the British brand sold 1,638 copies in the old world market, this result is 36.8% less than in the previous year.

Today, the dynamics have become positive: for example, in January-May, customers bought 912 cars of the brand (+ 67% in relation to the first five months of 2020).

Despite the crisis, Europe is not backing down on its plans to tighten its economic norms.

Recall that the UK authorities intend to stop selling cars with traditional internal combustion engines in 2030, and hybrids will also leave the market by 2035.

So those who want to «survive» in these realities have to shift their focus to electric vehicles: the process has also affected Aston Martin.

So far, the British brand is not doing very well with electric cars. Several years ago it became known that the company intends to launch a separate «battery» brand Lagonda.

Initially, it was assumed that the cars will appear in 2021, then the deadline was pushed to 2022, later there was information about the postponement of the launch to 2025.

As a result, as we reported in March of this year, it was decided not to launch a separate brand, and the name Lagonda is later used to denote the most luxurious versions of Aston Martin models (by analogy with Maybach and Mercedes-Benz).

In addition, the company intended to produce the Rapide E electric liftback (limited edition). In 2019, the brand even demonstrated the final version of the “rosette” novelty.

Despite this, the project was canceled anyway: in January 2020, the release of the «five-door» was officially canceled.

However, there will still be Aston Martin electric cars. According to Automotive News Europe, which cites the brand’s CEO Tobias Moers, the successors to the current two models — the Vantage coupe and the DB11 — will turn out to be electric vehicles.

Who exactly will become the first-born on the «green» path of the brand has not yet been announced, but it is known that this will happen in 2025. The DB11 is expected to be the pioneer.

Mercedes-Benz will help Aston Martin in the development of all-electric models and hybrids, it is assumed that some of the solutions can be borrowed from the flagship of the EQ line — the Mercedes-Benz EQS liftback, which was presented in mid-April this year.

According to the head of Aston Martin, «battery» cars of the brand will be able to drive about 600 km without recharging.

Aston Martin has unveiled the Valhalla supercar. Its hybrid powertrain is based on a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine developed by Mercedes-AMG, its output is 750 hp. (located on the rear axle).

It works in tandem with two electric motors, their combined output is 204 hp.

The pair is offered an eight-speed «automatic» DCT with two clutches (one of the electric motors is integrated into it).

The total output of this unit is 950 hp, and the maximum torque is 1000 Nm.
