Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro 2022. The mid-engined hypercar Aston Martin Valkyrie has a difficult fate.

The first sample, called AM-RB 001, was shown five years ago, but the production of commercial vehicles has not yet begun.

Initially, the start of production was scheduled for 2019, and the last promise featured the first half of 2021.

However, deliveries have not yet begun, and there has been a disagreement with the main investor.

Aston Martin terminated the contract with the Nebula Project, which in 2016 agreed to finance the development of mid-engine Aston, and that, in turn, through the court demands from the automaker $ 21 million for lost royalties.

Aston Martin assures that customers will receive their Valkyries soon.

And to bolster confidence in this, an even more evil track version of Valkyrie AMR Pro has been announced.

In fact, it is a racing car created for 24-hour races at Le Mans: Aston Martin has been developing such a car with partners for three years now, it is intended for the new category LMH (Le Mans Hypercar), which will operate from this year.

The AMR Pro version, although it is listed as a modification of the Valkyrie, but the volume of changes is such that in fact it is a different car.

The wheelbase is stretched by 380 mm, the front track is 96 mm wider, and the rear track is 115 mm wider.

The road and track versions do not have common exterior body panels, the aerodynamic design was made from scratch, and the huge wing and developed splitter increased the body overhangs (and overall length) by 266 mm.

While the road Valkyrie has a hybrid powertrain, the AMR Pro version does not have an electric superstructure.

The naturally aspirated V12 6.5 engine, developed by the Cosworth engineering bureau, works alone and produces about 1000 hp, and the cutoff is triggered at 11000 rpm.

The abandonment of electrical engineering made it possible to significantly reduce the weight of the car, but this is not the only measure: the suspension arms are made of carbon fiber, and polymer panels are installed instead of the glass of the cab.

Aston Martin plans to reveal detailed characteristics of the extreme coupe later.

In the meantime, he promises that the Valkyrie AMR Pro will be able to complete the circle of the Le Mans circuit of the Sarte in 3 minutes and 20 seconds, that is, at the level of the best cars in the LMP1 category.

Such a hypercar, of course, will not have access to public roads.

Aston Martin will release only 40 track Valkyries (plus two prototypes for testing), all of which will be left-hand drive.

Deliveries to customers are expected in the fourth quarter of this year.
