Audi e-tron GT 2021: Audi’s new electric sports sedan.
Two years after its debut, the Audi e-tron GT concept turned into a production car. The presentation of the electric sedan, technically unified with the Porsche Taycan, took place on February 9, although the model entered the assembly line of the Neckarsulm plant in December.

The novelty is presented in two versions — in addition to the basic version of the e-tron GT, the RS e-tron GT modification is available with a more powerful rear engine.

Receiving orders for four-doors in Europe is already open. A regular sedan is offered at a price of 99,800 euros (8.9 million rubles), «Ereska» is decently more expensive — from 138,200 euros (12.4 million rubles).

2021 Audi e-tron GT body design and dimensions

The new Audi model is built on the J1 platform, which is borrowed from the Taikan. The body length of an electric vehicle is 4989 mm, width — 1964 mm, height — 1414 mm.

The wheelbase is 2900 mm.
Externally, the e-tron GT is a classic Gran Turismo with a long bonnet, heavily sloped windshield, sloping roof and muscular shoulder area.

The front end of the body is typical for Audi — strict headlights and a Singleframe radiator grill with a cap, on which the corporate honeycomb pattern is applied.

All ribs and openings in the bumper are optimally configured from an aerodynamic point of view; through the side cutouts, flows are directed into the wheel arches and cool the wheel brakes.

The drag coefficient is reduced to 0.24 due to the flat bottom and the special shape of the diffuser. To improve aerodynamics, there is a retractable spoiler that can be fixed in two positions depending on the speed.

The sedan’s charge for active driving is emphasized by large wheels ranging in size from 19 to 21 inches. A black styling package is available upon request (redesigns the grille, sills and diffuser) and three carbon finishes (carbon fiber-reinforced polymer is used for the mirror housings and roof).

The body color palette of the Audi e-tron GT includes nine shades, including a new green color scheme.

Interior and equipment

While the interior of the 2021 Audi e-tron GT is highly driver-oriented, the back row passengers will also comfortably sit here, for which special footwells have been made. In front, a massive central tunnel is installed to delimit the zones between the seats.

The console, slightly turned to the left, houses a 10.1-inch multimedia screen and a climate control unit with physical buttons. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is standard, and windshield projection is available as an option.

There are three options for the front seats. The e-tron GT version gets sports seats with 8 adjustments by default, the RS e-tron GT with 14 adjustments.

For an extra charge, both models can be ordered with Pro seats with 18 settings, pneumatic side bolsters and massage function.

The decoration uses materials from recycled materials. For example, Kaskade is made from plastic bottles, while Econyl is made from leftover fabrics and carpets. Also used artificial / natural leather and microfiber Dinamica (similar to Alcantara).

The basic configuration of the sedan includes Audi pre sense, which closes the sunroof / windows and tightens the belts in the event of a collision.

Adaptive cruise control, all-round cameras and a night vision system should minimize the risk of emergency situations. Another model has dispatched a remote parking assistant controlled via a smartphone.

The absence of a traditional internal combustion engine made it possible to organize an additional 85-liter cargo compartment in front.

The capacity of the main rear trunk is 405 liters. But, however, when installing Bang & Olufsen speakers, this volume is reduced to 366 liters.

Specifications Audi e-tron GT 2021

Both versions of «e-tron» have a twin-engine layout. At the front is the same 238 hp electric motor.

But the output of the rear unit differs: if the base sedan has 435 hp, then the «Ereski» has 456 hp. As a result, the total power plant of the Audi e-tron GT produces 476 hp. and 630 Nm (in launch control mode — 530 HP and 640 Nm).

This thrust allows the electric car to accelerate to 100 km / h in 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 245 km / h.

The output of the Audi RS e-tron GT is 598 hp. and 830 Nm, but when the launch is activated for 2.5 seconds, the power increases to 646 hp. (the moment does not change). «Ereska» is capable of spurting up to «hundreds» in 3.3 seconds and gaining 250 km / h.

Both the base car and the four-door with the RS attachment relies on an 800-volt traction battery with a nominal capacity of 93 kWh (useful — 85 kWh). It is charged from AC and DC sources. When using a standard 11 kW device, it will take a whole night to recharge the battery.

The fast DC terminal with a capacity of 270 kW is another matter: it will take 22.5 minutes to charge from 5 to 80 percent, while it will provide an increase in mileage by 100 km in just 5 minutes.

The total range of a simple «e-throne» does not exceed 487 km, for the RS version — 472 km.

The chassis of the regular Audi e-tron GT is built according to a scheme with an adaptive front suspension and a limited-slip rear differential.

The RS version has a different configuration — here there is an adaptive suspension with adjustable ground clearance in the range of 42 mm and an electronically controlled rear differential.

Pivoting rear axle and carbon-ceramic brakes are optional on both models.
