Bentley Flying Spur 2020 — when the S-class isn’t luxurious enough.

The third generation Flying Spur is based on a new platform and has more technology. For the third time, Bentley never ceases to amaze with its new products. This time, the manufacturer will eliminate all the shortcomings of the two predecessors on the Phaeton platform.

The Bentley Flying Spur 2020 is long and low, expressively elegant and insanely powerful, and full of new technologies. The 2020 Bentley Flying Spur is an example for other cars of what a modern luxury sedan should be.

Car exterior

Led by Bentley designer Stefan Silaff, the British Flying Spur will get the classic proportions of a luxury car.

The 2020 model is just 1.5 cm longer than the previous version, and the wheelbase has increased by almost 13 cm, which visually lengthens the bonnet even more without a pronounced front overhang. These are perhaps the only size changes.

As expected, the front of the Flying Spur will be very similar to its predecessor. The most striking feature here is the grille, which will get significantly wider and taller.

Bentley has also ditched the two-piece grille design for a more elegant and classic grille with 23 thin vertical slats. A similar grille design was used on the 1957 Bentley S1 Continental Flying Spur. The slim radiator grille is finished in high-gloss black to contrast the chrome frame.

The massive grille is surrounded by brand new headlights with perfect design. Just like the previous Continental GT, the Flying Spur has four headlights. All four headlights feature LED Matrix technology as standard and the new Bentley effect. The British have also added a chrome bushing behind the cut element, which creates a sparking effect that is visible even when the headlights are off.

What’s under the hood of the Bentley Flying Spur 2020

Under the hood, as already mentioned, is the latest modification of the 6.0-liter W-12 engine, which was first used for the Continental GT Coupe and Convertible models.

This means that in a car of 626 hp, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h will be 3.3 seconds and the top speed is 333 km / h.

The cutting edge technology, of course, is the VW Group’s Universal Automotive System. The 2020 Bentley Flying Spur will come with three powertrain options: a 6-liter W12, a 4.0-liter V8, and a hybrid based on a 2.9-liter V6.

What does the Bentley Flying Spur interior look like?

For the interior, it will be possible to choose 15 different leather colors for the seats and 8 colors of wood trim inside the cabin. The Flying Spur 2020 is equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment system as well as a range of driver assistance assistants.

Traffic warning, night vision, camera system and parking assistant make driving even more comfortable and safe. The display shows all interior status indicators showing the outside temperature, compass and chronometer.

Rear-seat passengers can also control a range of functions, including window blinds, rear seat massage, rear climate control and lighting, using a 5.1-inch touchscreen remote.

Market entry and cost

The new Bentley Flying Spur will be produced, as before in Britain, the city of Crewe. The car will be available on the European market in 2020. In 2020, this model will be available in Russia.

It should be noted that the previous model was not in great demand on the Russian market. Only 19 cars were sold and, most likely, this is due to the high cost.

The new 2020 Bentley Flying Spur model will cost over $ 200,000. More accurate numbers will be known by early 2020.
