Brabus is the first company to turn the current Mercedes G-Class into a pickup truck. The name of this «monster» is the Brabus 800 Adventure XLP!

The basis for this project was taken from the Mercedes-AMG G63, which was lengthened to accommodate the rear cargo platform.

At the same time, the specialists from Brabus managed to maintain all the torsional rigidity of the body. Even the interior has remained as spacious and virtually untouched.

To achieve this result, the development of a special Brabus module, which is attached to the rear suspension site to the donor frame, allowed.

As a result, the Brabus 800 Adventure XLP is 5.31m long, 69cm longer than the original G63. The wheelbase has increased by 50 cm.

Changes in dimensions also demanded structural changes to the chassis. Up front, there is a new subframe and redesigned independent suspension. The rear beam was left stock, shifting it back.

The main elements of the body are metal, and the sides are made of carbon. The tailgate is functional, made in the form of a swing door, in the manner of the original.

First of all, the modification called Brabus 800 Adventure XLP differs from the donor G63 in the presence of a full-fledged cargo area. The latter is made of steel, and its inner lining is made of carbon fiber.

In the process of tuning, the SUV retained the rear window of the cabin with a standard luggage door and a standard wiper, while the cargo area of the resulting pickup can be used not only for utilitarian purposes, but also, for example, as a landing pad for a drone.

Outside, the Brabus 800 Adventure XLP also received plastic fender liners, which made it 116 mm wider than the original car. The tuners do not cover the features of the interior of the modification, but the photographs show that the interior of the model is almost completely covered with leather with diamond stitching and atelier’s logos on the headrests of the seats.

Another distinctive feature of the Brabus 800 Adventure XLP is the portal axle suspension. At the front, it is still independent, and a continuous beam is installed at the rear, but there is now a final drive on each wheel.

The pickup is fitted with 22-inch wheels with 325/55 Pirelli Scorpion ATR off-road tires, giving it an impressive 490 mm of ground clearance.

The cherry on the cake, in this project, are Brabus portal bridges, our own design. As a result, the ground clearance has increased to 49 cm.

Many suspension parts have been redesigned and milled from billet aluminum, including a reinforced axle housing and all suspension links.
AMG’s 4.0-liter V8 has been redesigned.

Thanks to the installation of two Brabus turbochargers with larger compressors and a new control unit, the output is increased to 800 hp. and 1000 Nm of torque.

This allows the pickup to accelerate to 100 km / h in less than 5 seconds. But the maximum speed of the Brabus 800 Adventure XLP was limited to 210 km / h due to the high center of gravity and rather big wheels.

The off-road «body kit» of the novelty includes, for example, a power front bumper with a winch, an expeditionary trunk and an additional «chandelier» on the roof, extended wheel arches and a hood with an extreme air intake, as well as a Wingcopter quadcopter installed in the trunk: apparently, with its help it is supposed to reconnoiter the details of the route.

However, given the drone’s ability to accelerate to 240 km / h and cover distances of up to 120 km, Brabus proposes to use it for rescue operations.

Acceptance of orders for modification is already open, the price of an extreme all-terrain vehicle starts from 575 630 euros (almost 42 million rubles), while the usual G63 costs at least € 153 000. At the same time, the first copy of the truck will be presented in Geneva for € 666 836 (48.5 million rubles).

It has a rich set of options, and a flying drone Wingcopter is included with the car. The latter can reach speeds of up to 240 km / h, moving away from the operator by 120 km.

The pickup will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. Prices for the new Brabus 800 Adventure XLP start at € 389,831, with the company also offering a special “First Edition” that starts at € 575,630.
