Buick Envision 2021.

The new generation Buick Envision 2021 crossover has been declassified.

Buick has partially declassified the new (second) generation Envision crossover in development. From the first official photos, it becomes clear that the front part of the model is now made in the current corporate style of the brand, which is characterized by narrow «fanged» headlights and a shield-shaped radiator grill.

Also, the new 2021 Buick Envision received a longer hood and leaner sidewalls, which made the car’s silhouette more solid. There are no photos of the salon yet, but it is known that this crossover will be the first model of the brand with a new multimedia system.

The latter will boast a 10.0-inch touchscreen, as well as support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, Pandora and Spotify interfaces. The dimensions of Buick NVision 2021 have not yet been advertised, although the developers report that the car has become lower and wider than its predecessor.

In the US, the crossover will be offered with a 2.0-liter «turbo four», working in tandem with a nine-speed automatic. Apparently, we are talking about the engine that comes with the Cadillac XT4 crossover. At the latter, this unit produces 241 hp. (350 Nm).

Probably, the new NVision can be ordered with both front and all-wheel drive. There is no other information about the technical «stuffing» yet, but it is known that the SUV will already have a whole arsenal of electronic assistants in the database, including automatic braking, a parking assistant with a rear-view camera, and a lane-keeping system.

The midsize second-generation Buick Envision SUV was first announced in America, but a full-fledged premiere took place in China. After all, cars for both main markets will be produced here, at the facilities of the SAIC GM joint venture. Four years ago, the previous Envision became the first Chinese-made vehicle to enter the US market, and the practice has been successful.

In China, the new SUV will be called the Buick Envision S, because the predecessor will remain in service, although it will lose the most expensive versions. And in the second generation, for the first time, there will be a luxury top version of the Avenir, which many other Buick models already have. It differs from the lower trim levels in a different radiator grille, generous chrome decor and rich interior trim.

With the change of generation, Envision got prettier and acquired more solid proportions with a long hood and lean sidewalls. It is 24 mm shorter (4662 mm) and 55 mm lower (1631 mm) than its predecessor, but the wheelbase has grown by 29 mm (up to 2779 mm).

The wheels themselves — with a diameter of 18 to 20 inches to choose from, and all diode lighting equipment is already «in the base».

The designers approached the interior design in a very traditional way: there are analog devices and a climate control panel with physical keys. However, there is a media system with a ten-inch touchscreen and a head-up display, and a button panel on the central tunnel is responsible for controlling the transmission.

The rich configurations have ventilation for the front seats, a panoramic roof, all-round cameras, a Bose audio system, and also a system known from Cadillac cars with a screen in the rear-view mirror, to which the image from the upper camera in the stern is transmitted. The maximum boot capacity with the rear seats folded down is 1,444 liters.
