The mid-size crossover Cadillac XT5 was presented in the Chinese market in June two thousand nineteen, and the version for the United States was declassified a month later.

The car got a retouched appearance, improved equipment and a new base engine, the start of sales in Russia came at the beginning of the twentieth at a price of 3,590,000 rubles.

The Premium Luxury version provides diode head optics, leather interior, heated steering wheel, electric front seats and steering column, Bose music, a rear view camera, a set of security systems, and 18 ″ wheels.

The Sport trim sports 20-inch wheels, black exterior trim and special trim to set the driver in a sporty way, as well as a retuned suspension and four-wheel drive system.

Plus, the Platinum package is available for the model, which includes three-zone climate control, nappa leather seat upholstery, an all-round camera, OEM navigation, a screen in the rear-view mirror, a night vision system and adaptive cruise control.

The company reports that the restyled crossover has been improved on thirty points (the American one — forty), but they did not touch its appearance much.

In addition to the aforementioned grille, it is possible to additionally note only the optimized rear-view mirror housings and the rear spoiler visor, under which the wiper was hidden.

Otherwise, judging by the photo of the new Cadillac XT5, the car has remained the same: there are characteristic head optics with diode «branches» on the sides, a raised hood, sharp edges in the exterior design, translucent housings of the taillights that partially extend over the wings, and a pair of trapezoidal branch pipes of the exhaust system.

The interior of the crossover boasts expensive finishing materials, a stylish four-spoke steering wheel with many buttons on it, a fashionable instrument panel with modified graphics (the company abandoned four small round ones with additional parameters), as well as a rather minimalistic front panel.

On the Cadillac XT5 2021, an upgraded third-generation Cue multimedia system was installed, the functions of which can now be controlled from a special washer on the central tunnel.

And the branded salon mirror, on which you can display the picture from the rear-view camera, has become frameless, has been increased in size and received a higher resolution.

Specifications

The Cadillac XT5 crossover in a new body is based on the C1XX modular platform, which has significantly (up to 126 kg) reduce the weight of the car, compared to its predecessor, the Cadillac SRX model.

There are McPherson struts at the front, and a multi-link suspension is installed at the rear, 18 «wheels by default, and the brakes on both axles are disc brakes, while the front is ventilated.

Note that the restyled version received an upgraded front suspension designed to make the car more comfortable. The overall length of the pre-reform car is 4,815 mm, the wheelbase is 2,857, the width is 1,903, the height is 1,675, the ground clearance (clearance) is 200 mm.

The boot volume by default holds 849 liters, and with the second row backs folded down, its size can be increased to 1,784 liters.

The top variant of the Cadillac X Ti 5 is equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 petrol engine producing 314 hp. (367 Nm), but instead of the previous eight-band automatic from Aisin, it is now paired with a 9-speed gearbox of its own design.

The dynamic characteristics of this version are not specified, but before this version gained a hundred from a standstill in 7.0 seconds, and the maximum speed reached 210 km / h.

The base version of the crossover received a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder LSY engine, which previously appeared on the younger Cadillac XT4 SUV.

Previously, the two-liter «four» was offered only in the Chinese market, but that was the LTG engine, and now the initial version first became available in the United States, and then it may appear in Russia.

The Cadillac XT5 2.0 develops 241 hp. (in the Russian specification there are only 200 forces) and 350 Nm of torque instead of 269 forces and 400 Nm earlier, but the new power unit can boast the function of turning off a pair of cylinders and, as a result, reduced fuel consumption, plus the initial version relies on an electric brake booster.

Four-wheel drive is realized using individual couplings for connecting the rear wheels, plus an electronically controlled rear differential is available.

The start of sales of the new Cadillac XT5 in Russia fell on the first quarter at a price of 3,590,000 rubles. There are only two configurations for the car: Premium Luxury and Sport.
