Cadillac XT6 2020: large crossover with off-road options.
At the Detroit 2019 auto exhibition, a new model of the large-format crossover Cadillac XT6 2020 was highly appreciated by specialists. The novelty attracted the attention of visitors with its aggressive body design, elite quality of the interior trim, increased off-road and driving characteristics.
It is expected that the new model will delight its owners with the durability of the steel case, expanded possibilities of functional and comfort-forming options.

Exterior

In advertising photos and videos, the new body of the first generation SUV strikes the imagination with its volumetric dimensions and a large amount of original decor.

• The front of the Cadillac XT6 2020 features a rectangular, raised front end, with a huge bonnet ribbed, narrow LED headlight units, and a silvery perimeter of fine-mesh grille.

• A wide bumper and a large-format body kit, consisting of a central ventilation air intake and curly cutouts of side diffusers with vertically mounted fog lamps of LED lighting, are dynamically and somewhat aggressively designed.

• The structure of the front end contains elements of aerodynamic sports relief.

The novelty of the lineup in profile projection looks worthy in all respects. In sight:

• smooth bending of the roof falling to the spoiler;

• straight geometry of wide doorways;

• glossy frame and pillars of three-section side windows;

• branded reliefs concentrated in the lower part of the body and on the perimeters of large wheel arches.

Complementing the composition is the corporate design of reinforced 20-inch titanium wheels.
The layout of the rear side of the body is typical crossover. In the field of view, covering the rear glazing, a massive spoiler lip, an almost vertical line of the trunk lid with a corporate logo, a decorative strip and a platform for attaching a registration plate.

The entourage is enlivened by the exclusive L-shape of the vertical feet, the stripes of running lights integrated into the embossed bumper, a body kit with an air diffuser and sports trapezoidal exhausts on both sides.

Interior

The interior design of the spacious seven-seater cabin is made without plastic or fabrics. The finishing and decorative assortment contains only genuine leather, alcantara, special wood and polished metal.

The restyling of the interior and front panel copied from the predecessor of the XT5 series was affected only in small details.

• Spoke-free upper segment of the comfortable leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel provides a full view of the digital panel, simulating the appearance and layout of an analog instrument cluster with a built-in on-board computer monitor.

• The upper floor of the central console is occupied by a block of ventilation deflectors, under which a multifunctional tablet of the multimedia command complex is installed. The lower platform is used for the elements of activation and operational adjustment of the onboard technical and comfort-forming options.
• At the junction of the torpedo and the tunnel there is a smartphone charging unit and ports for connecting other electronic-digital peripherals.

The technical configuration of the tunnel includes a selector joystick for transmission, washers for controlling the multimedia system and switching modes.

In the presence of a pair of cupholders and a compact armrest, which opens up access to a spacious mini-fridge when raised.

• The first row seat road service offers several ranges of operational adjustments, heating, ventilation and multi-mode vibration massage.

• The second row is designed as a three-seater sofa, in addition to the regular service, supplemented by its own climate control system and an armrest.

• Two passengers in the last row of seats have access to seat heating and position adjustment.

The 356-liter luggage compartment volume leaves much to be desired. The disadvantage is compensated for by the electrified transformation of the middle and rear rows, due to which the indicator increases to 1220 and 2228 liters, respectively.

The list of equipment for the new crossover includes a complete set of the latest electronics, advanced functionality of passive and active safety systems.

Specifications

In the basic version, the crossover body is edited in optimal proportions: 5050 x 1964 and 1784 mm. The length of the wheelbase of the chassis is 2863 mm, the height of the ground clearance is 169 mm.

The Cadillac XT6 2020 is based on the design advantages of the front- or all-wheel-drive global platform GM C1 with independent MacPherson strut suspension of the front and five-link rear axle, adaptive shock absorbers and electric power steering.

The crossover is driven by a gasoline four-cylinder aspirated with parameters: 3.6 l / 314 hp / 373 Nm of peak thrust. The asset of the power unit is the function of turning off two cylinders at idle.

The engine comes with a four-mode automated gearbox.

The test drive confirmed that the traction characteristics of the engine allow a crossover weighing more than two tons to change the first hundred already in the eighth second, as well as tow a trailer weighing up to 2000 kg.

Options and prices

There is no reliable information on the number and characteristics of modifications for this hour. Depending on the type of drive and additional options, the price of a new crossover is formed in the range of 44-46 thousand dollars.
