The exclusive CUPRA Formentor VZ5 is the most powerful and high-performance crossover version of the Spanish brand. With 390 hp and a more aggressive look, the limited edition of 700 units will go on sale in November.
The CUPRA brand celebrated its third anniversary in style with the most powerful model ever created.
The sports firm was formed with a specific role, which is not only to develop sporty and high-performance versions of SEAT, but also to carry out electrification at a high level.
Thus was born the CUPRA Formentor sports crossover, which reached its maximum splendor and level in 2021.
The new model has got one of the most powerful engines under the hood. This is a 2.5-liter 5-cylinder TFSI engine.
The Spanish model develops maximum power of 390 hp and transmits it through an automatic double-clutch transmission, 7-speed DSG and 4Drive all-wheel drive.
CUPRA specialists have taken care of tuning this version with pinpoint accuracy, especially with regard to the chassis.
The model has an adaptive suspension with 15 levels of adjustment and new springs, which reduced the height of the body to the ground by 10 mm compared to the 310-horsepower Formentor VZ.
Aesthetically, the crossover features special details: copper spokes on 20-inch alloy wheels, Akebono brake calipers and four exhaust caps that are in a new position.
Spanish «daughter» of concern Volkswagen — Cupra brand — has presented «charged» crossover Formentor VZ5.
Cupra Formentor is Volkswagen Tiguan’s classmate, VZ5 can compete with crossovers of premium brands in power and equipment.
In the interior of the Formentor VZ5, the CUP Supersport front sport seats are upholstered in fine black or blue leather with copper stitching. The same décor is used on the digital dashboard and multimedia screen.
The brand will release only 7,000 copies of the novelty for the whole world. Orders will be accepted from November 2021.
