Ford Everest 2022.

The next-generation mid-size SUV is due out in 2022. For now, the model is undergoing road tests.

Ford created the Everest SUV based on the Ranger pickup, which is designed for markets in North America and Europe, also the truck is sold in Australia.

In turn, the SUV on its basis is designed mainly for the Asia-Pacific region, and in India, the medium-sized frame SUV is known as Endeavour.

The model has been produced since 2003, in 2015, Ford Everest changed its generation.

Now the company is developing the next generation SUV, which is likely to hit the market in the second half of 2022 (as a car of 2023 model year).

Note that the «donor» — the Ranger pickup — is also in the process of developing a new generation, and the Americans intend to present it by the end of this year.

Until the presentation of the «third» Ford Everest is still quite far, while the company continues to test prototypes on public roads.

One of them caught spies during the «summer» tests in southern Europe (despite the fact that the model is not sold in the region).

Spanish edition motor.es shared the photos with us. The car in the pictures is hidden behind camouflage, but in spite of this, the shots showed not only camouflaged exterior, but also the interior of the future novelty.

Judging by the photos, the exterior will largely resemble the appearance of the next-generation Ranger pickup (we have not seen it yet, only today Ford has published pictures and videos of the vehicle in a camouflage film).

We should expect that the design of the front end of the new Everest will also borrow a lot from the best-selling brand in the U.S. — the pickup Ford F-150.

In particular, we are talking about the headlights, which will be equipped with the same large «brackets» LED daytime running lights on each side.

Photos of the cabin show the interior of the still apparent prototype, where on the central tunnel are seen a pair of rotary knobs, acting as the selector of automatic transmission and the control system of traction.

The electric parking brake is also noticeable. The multifunction steering wheel used in the prototype differs from the current version.

It is worth mentioning that many elements on the way to the assembly line can still change seriously — so far we see more like a «half-finished product».

There is no information about the «stuffing» of the future SUV, as well as the next Ranger pickup truck, yet.

Earlier we reported that in Europe the truck could have all-electric model (probably in 2024).

It is expected that the novelty will have a more advanced multimedia system, advanced security system, which will include blind spot monitoring, all-around cameras and other features.

More recently, it was reported that Ford has decided to close its plants in India due to losses and weak demand.

This will turn into bad news for the local Everest, the Endeavour, which will stop production in the first half of next year.

A few years ago, the company decided to shut down production of passenger cars in Russia as well; now, only the Transit commercial model comes off the assembly line here.
