Hypercar Hennessey Venom F5 2021 became serial: it develops 500 km / h.
The first completely independent model of the famous atelier costs 154 million rubles.

American tuner John Hennessy promised to build a car named Venom F5 and set a new speed record on it back in the summer of 2014.

According to the original plan, it was supposed to be presented in 2015 and brought to the market in 2016 in an amount of over 30 pieces.

But in the end, the production-ready hypercar made its debut only now — and this is a completely different car.

Six years ago, we were talking about an improved version of the Hennessey Venom GT supercar based on the Lotus: at that time it had already overtaken the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport on the runway of the Kennedy Space Center, but the Guinness Book of Records did not count this achievement, since there was only one race side.

After some thought, the Texas firm decided to raise the stakes and develop a new model from the ground up — for the first time in its history.

The result is a 4,666 mm long coupe. It is almost entirely made of carbon, and therefore weighs only 1360 kg without fluids.

The 6.6-liter turbo V8 with a cast iron block and aluminum heads is also original, with its own name Fury. It develops 1844 hp. and 1617 Nm and is combined with a seven-speed robot and rear-wheel drive.

The power-to-weight ratio is 1.36 hp. per kilogram — it is argued that this is the best indicator of all road vehicles on sale today.

The rideable electronics of the Hennessey Venom F5 has five operating modes: Sport, Track, Drag, Wet and F5.

Only the last one, named after the most powerful tornadoes on the Fujita scale, unleashes its full power.

The estimated acceleration time to 100 km / h is less than 3 seconds, to 200 km / h — 4.7 seconds, and the maximum speed is 500 km / h.

Earlier this year, another new American hypercar, the SSC Tuatara, allegedly hit 509 km / h (and showed 533 km / h in one direction), but there are big doubts about this.

Hennessy promises to confirm the stated characteristics in the most open format.

Other features of the Venom F5 include mixed-size (19 and 20-inch) wheels with Michelin Pilot Cup Sport 2 rubber and carbon-ceramic brakes with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, a minimalist interior with a multifunction steering wheel and a pair of 7 and 9-inch screens.

The only option is the track package, which consists of a more aggressive front splitter and a wing that replaces the rear spoiler.

As the project was being prepared for the series, the starting price increased from $ 1.8 to $ 2.1 million (154 million rubles at the current exchange rate), and the circulation was reduced to 24 units.

The first buyers will receive their cars next year.

Engineers of the Texas firm plan to test the limiting capabilities of the machine on the five-kilometer runway of the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

By the way, if the records of Bugatti and SSC are considered invalid, then formally the fastest production car is still the Koenigsegg Agera RS hypercar, which three years ago accelerated to 446.97 km / h.

However, this spring, the Swedish company unveiled the new Jesko Absolut model, which in theory can accelerate to 532 km / h, if the creators still find a suitable test track. So the battle continues.
