Honda City 2021.

Japanese manufacturer Honda has decided on the timing of the presentation of a new hybrid version of the City model.

According to the official representatives of the brand, the sedan with the most economical engine will be shown at the end of this spring or at the very beginning of summer.

In the Honda City model range, the hybrid version will be positioned one notch higher than the version equipped with a classic gas engine.

It is reported that the most economical version of the City sedan will be equipped with a hybrid power unit, which is based on a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine.

Together with a standard engine, the developer uses two electrical installations at once. This system will be able to produce a total of 108 horsepower and develop a torque of 253 N * m.

For reference, the standard version of the gasoline engine is limited to 97 «horses» and 127 N * m, respectively.

The hatchback largely repeats the design of the sedan of the same name. At the same time, the hatchback is 208 mm shorter. The length of the novelty reaches 4 345 mm.

But the wheelbase of the sedan and the hatchback is the same.

This guarantees the latter more legroom.
At the presentation in Thailand, they showed the City Hatchback with a liter gasoline turbo engine producing 120 hp. and combined with a continuously variable gearbox and front-wheel drive system.

The hatchback in the sports version of the RS, in addition to red decor, gets six airbags, cruise control, steering wheel switches, rear ports for charging, etc.

Add to this an audio system with 8 speakers, modern multimedia with an eight-inch touchscreen and a virtual «tidy» with red backlight.

Presumably, the full name of this modification will be the Honda City RS Hybrid.

The start of sales of this version is planned for the car market in India, as well as in some countries belonging to the Asia-Pacific region.

The expected cost of the car is in the range of 1.5 to 1.8 million Indian rupees, which means approximately the same value in rubles.

On the territory of Russia, the Honda City sedan has not previously been presented in any generation and now it will definitely not appear, since the day before the management of the auto brand decided to leave the Russian car market in terms of sales of new cars.
