Hyundai Alcazar: a larger version of Creta with a third row of seats.

In April 2021, the premiere of the Hyundai Alcazar three-row crossover took place in India.

The latter is not a full-fledged novelty and, in fact, is a stretched version of the second-generation Creta off-road vehicle, which debuted on the local market in two thousand and twenty.

Outside, the Alkazar’s distinctive features are a richly chrome-decorated radiator grille, modified headlights with larger fog lights, and additional sills.

In addition, the stretched model has wider rear door openings and additional windows in the C-pillars.

As for the stern, it is completely original here with enlarged taillights. The Koreans have not yet declassified the interior of the model, limiting themselves only to showing the corresponding sketch.

Judging by this picture, the three-row crossover received the same front part of the cabin as the basic version of the mentioned Indian Creta.

By default, a three-seater sofa is installed on the second row of the 2021 Hyundai Alcazar, but instead of the latter, you can order separate captain’s chairs with a massive box in the center.

Thus, the presented model can have six or seven seats, while the developers provide for the possibility of folding the rear seats in a 50:50 ratio.

Compared to the original Creta, the three-row crossover reaches a length of 4.5 meters (+ 0.2), and its wheelbase is 2,760 mm (+ 150).

Due to the increased rear overhang, the volume of the trunk was kept at the level of the five-seater version.

According to Koreans, the share of high-strength steels in the Alcazar body structure reaches 75.6%. At the same time, the line of power units is seriously different from that on the Indian Crete.

From the latter, the front-wheel drive crossover got only a 1.5-liter turbodiesel of the U2 family with a capacity of 115 hp. (250 Nm).

Alternatively, the car can be ordered with a 2.0-liter aspirated from the old Nu line, which produces 159 forces and 192 Nm of torque.

Both motors can be ordered with either a six-speed manual or a similar automatic.

It is reported that the crossover with a gasoline engine and manual transmission is capable of accelerating from zero to hundreds in less than 10.0 seconds.

Hyundai Alcazar production will be established at the Indian plant of the South Korean brand.

The start of sales of new items in the local market is scheduled for May 2021, the prices have not yet been announced.

Whether such a crossover should be expected in other countries is not specified.
