Infiniti QX60 Monograph showed the design of the future crossover.
Three years ago, Infiniti found a suitable name for such concepts.

After all, a monograph is a scientific work aimed at an in-depth study of one topic. So the Infiniti QX60 Monograph concept invites us to study only one design issue, without being distracted by technical details and even the interior, about which there is no word yet.

Something like this will look like a large second-generation Infiniti QX60 three-row crossover, which will debut in 2021.

Moreover, the concept also sets the general direction of development of the design of Infiniti vehicles for the coming years.

The company compares the new stylistic philosophy with origami, kimonos and other attributes of Japanese culture, but the main thing is that the designers began to work in the direction of minimalism and abandoned pretentious solutions.

For example, the S-shaped C-pillars are a thing of the past. The hood became less prominent, and the raised sill line made the crossover visually heavier and more solid.

Interestingly, even the concept has traditional rear-view mirrors. The recessed door handles are likely to go to the production car.

There is only preliminary information about the technique so far. Apparently, the new Infiniti QX60 will retain the layout of the current model with a transverse engine and «main» front wheel drive. Most likely, even an aspirated V6 and a CVT will remain, although it is highly likely that the younger versions will have a 2.0 turbo four with a variable compression ratio, which is put on the younger Infiniti QX50 crossovers.

The current Infiniti QX60 crossover debuted in 2011 (still under the JX index) and entered the market in 2012. Since then, there have been two upgrades, however, regardless of age, the «sixty» is still the most popular Infiniti model in the key American market: 43 thousand cars were sold last year, with a total brand sales of 118 thousand.

While the novelty has only the status of a concept car.

The premium brand Infiniti has unveiled the QX60 Monograph concept crossover, which should reflect the styling of the upcoming QX60 production model.

The front of the novelty is made in the spirit of the QX50 crossover, including a radiator grille with an expressive honeycomb pattern, an embossed hood and tapered headlights with a strip of running lights. Note that the concept received a backlit emblem.

If we look at the QX60 Monograph, in profile, we can note the two-tone of the car: the black roof with solid glazing contrasts with the light tone of the main body.

This styling, coupled with retractable handles, evokes the Range Rover Velar model.

The interior of the conceptual crossover QX60 Monograph has not yet been demonstrated by the company. It is only known that the salon can accommodate up to seven people.

There is also no information yet about the power unit of the future model. According to some media reports, the novelty can get a 2.0-liter turbo engine that produces from 249 to 272 hp. depending on the market.

Serial production of the new QX60 should start in 2021.
