The premium car has been produced since 2008 by the British company Jaguar. It was first presented at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. Production is established in Birmingham.

In 2020, the British unveiled the reystaling models of the Jaguar XF sedan and station wagon (XF Sportbrake), which will enter the mass market in 2021.

Appearance

Both new items have not undergone any significant changes. The front (with a large air intake) and rear bumpers acquired a new look, the radiator grille became slightly wider. The base now comes with LED head optics.

Matrix headlights with animated direction indicators are available for a fee. The rear optics have also been revised.

Interior

Here the designers have tried in earnest. Some of the interior was taken from the updated early 2021 F-Pace crossover.

Expensive interior trim made of soft leather and double stitching, and the interior creates a special atmosphere in the cabin. Indeed, Jaguar is said to be the epitome of comfort, beauty and luxury.

The center console of the sedan and station wagon houses an 11.4-inch multimedia system (Pivi Pro) framed by a magnesium alloy.

In previous models, the display area was 48% smaller. The new multimedia is equipped with two SIM cards, allowing the system to be updated.

A touchscreen with two rotating handles is located just below the monitor.

Central tunnel Jaguar XF has lost the transmission control washer and acquired a brutal joystick. The developers also took care of the niche for wireless charging at the base of the console.

The dashboard has not acquired any noticeable changes. The same 12.3-inch display is installed. But its functionality was preferred. In addition, both cars received a head-up display.

An air ionizer, which, together with the active noise cancellation system, will make the trip even more comfortable is a nice bonus.

The developers also took care of safety by installing a display in the rear-view mirror with an image of the upper rear-view camera.

The driver’s and front passenger’s seats have become wider and the area of ​​heating and ventilation has increased.

A long journey will brighten up with its sound, the updated Meridian stereo system with 12 music speakers.

Characteristics

The updated XF has lost its V6 engine. Under the hood is now a 2-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 246 hp. and the same volume diesel (204 hp).

The diesel version of the Jaguar received a 48-volt starter-generator and became a kind of hybrid. Manufacturers abandoned the «mechanics», equipping the XF with an 8-speed automatic.

Restyled Jaguar is made on an extended IQ base. The suspension has F-TYPE double wishbones (providing the best handling in its class) at the front and an independent multi-link at the rear.

It is possible to install adaptive dampers, but for an additional fee. The intelligent IDD system ensures a safe and comfortable ride in all road conditions.

The car is 190 kg lighter thanks to the aluminum construction. At the same time, the rigidity of the body has increased by 28%.

The changes also affected the dimensions of the sedan: the length decreased by 7 mm, and the height by 3 mm. But this did not affect the spaciousness for the worse.

On the contrary, the space in the legs and above the heads of the rear row passengers has increased. The wheelbase has increased by 51 mm. The luggage compartment volume is 505 liters.

Competitors

Frequently encountered premium cars on the road include the Audi A6, BMW 6 Series, Mercedes E class, Toyota Camry and others.

Of course, the Japanese can hardly compete with the Jaguar XF, and the Koreans are not worth mentioning at all.

In terms of price category, the main competitors include Porsche Panamera, Cadillac CTS, Mercedes Benz CLS and others. How much better or worse the new car will be, time will tell.

release date

The start of sales of the sedan in Russia is expected in the spring of 2021, and you shouldn’t wait for the Sportback in our open spaces.

According to a statement from Jaguar representatives, for Russia the novelty will be released in two versions: diesel with rear wheel drive, with a capacity of 199 hp. and petrol all-wheel drive 249 hp.

Price and configuration

Prices and trim levels were not mentioned. Only one thing is clear that few people can afford such a car.

Jaguar XF is planned to be sold abroad in three trim levels: P250 S, P250 SE and P300 R-Dynamic SE.

The cheapest model will cost $ 45,145 or a little over 3.5 million rubles. The top-end configuration will cost $ 51,145 or just over 4 million rubles.

Despite the fact that the engine has become less powerful, it is unlikely that the updated version will not find its client in Russia.

Moreover, manufacturers are assuring that prices will be reduced.
