Kia Stinger 2021.

The Korean company designed the Kia Stinger 2021 Gran Turismo class liftback back in 2011, but the production version of the Stinger appeared only in 2017.

Considering that in Kia, when changing generations, they adhere to a five-year cycle, one should not expect a significant update of the liftback in the near future.

And yet, the model, according to the developers themselves, created to demonstrate «high performance and Kia handling», is preparing for a restyling, which, according to the idea, should give us an even more productive and stylish Stinger 2021 model year.

New model overview

Stinger shares a rear-wheel drive platform with the Genesis G80 sedan, thanks to which it has dimensions that clearly go beyond D-class standards:

• length — 4831 mm.,
• width — 1869 mm.,
• height — 1400 mm.,
• wheelbase — 2906 mm.

Fully independent suspension, adaptive chassis with electronically controlled shock absorbers (5 operating modes) and powerful disc brakes (320 and 314 mm.) Turn the 2021 Kia Stinger into a rather dynamic and responsive car to changing road conditions.

In the most expensive configuration, the GT liftback gets 19-inch wheels, which are trained in various tires.

Exterior

It is known that the designers of the South Korean department of Kia R & D are already busy with the appearance of the new Kia Stinger 2021, but for the exterior they will propose minor changes.

Experts expect changes to the design of the radiator grille and front optics, while at the back they predict the appearance of new lights, made in the style of the K5 / Optima model with a horizontal strip connecting the headlights.

Salon

Inside the liftback, a new 10.25-inch touchscreen display of the navigation system and a new virtual tidy should appear.

Also announced the emergence of new interior materials, which, like the colors of the new body of the Kia Stinger 2021, will be presented in a wider palette.

A new control in the cabin will be a button panel located on the central tunnel that allows you to set driving modes.

At the same time, the introduction of the Kia Drive Wise intelligent safety system at the Stinger, which includes the autonomous driving function, remains in question.

Technical stuffing

New engines from the Smartstream family may be available for the 2021 Stinger, according to reports from Kia Motors Europe.

These are turbocharged units with a volume of 2.5 and 3.5 liters, which will replace the previous ones — 2.0 and 3.3 liters. Both new engines will be powered by an 8-speed DCT automatic transmission with 5 drive modes (Drive Mode Select).

The manufacturer should also retain the ability to choose between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, and in the latter case, the multi-plate clutch and thrust vector control system will also remain unchanged.

Kia Stinger is going to the Kaliningrad Avtotor, but it’s too early to talk about the exact launch date of the restyled version of the sports liftback.

The Koreans plan to show the results of their improvements around the middle of this year, which means that the car will appear on sale in their homeland in the coming autumn. Perhaps by the end of the year, the updated Kia Stinger 2021 will reach Russia.

Modifications and options of the current model

The current version of the sports liftback from the Kia Stinger offers two motors to choose from: a 197-horsepower one that can be modified with any type of drive, and a 247-horsepower one. with., which relies only on 4WD versions.

There are six complete sets, and their cost varies between 2.1-3.4 million rubles:

• Comfort. In the basic version, the Korean liftback is equipped with seven airbags, a three-zone «climate», a navigator, a rear-view camera, front and rear LED headlights, a heated steering wheel, a multimedia system with a 7-inch touchscreen, 6 acoustic speakers for an audio system.

• Luxe. The next level of equipment is expanded with wireless phone charging and leather interior.

• Prestige. This package additionally includes: ventilation system and heated seats, head-up display, electric boot lid, front parking sensors, blind spot monitoring system, 9 acoustic speakers for the audio system.

• Style. Tuning is added to the new body in the form of dark chrome trim on the side mirror housings, radiator grille and front bumper. Inside, a 15-speaker Harman / Kardon premium audio system appears.

• GT Line. Here, Kia Stinger appears on wheels enlarged from 18 to 19 inches, a panoramic roof, an all-round visibility system, and an electric steering column adjustment system.

• GT. The top-of-the-range liftback has a 3.3-liter engine, plus the chassis gets electronically controlled suspension and Brembo brakes. Additional items on the equipment list are adaptive cruise control, adaptive LED optics and Nappa leather for the interior.
