Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 2022. Revived Lamborghini Countach introduced. The Countach model has become without exaggeration a landmark for the Lamborghini company.

The first prototype was presented 50 years ago at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show and laid the foundation for future supercars of the brand.

The characteristic wedge-shaped silhouette, the guillotine doors, the space frame, the V12 engine positioned longitudinally behind the seats — all this appeared on the Countach for the first time and is still used on Lamborghini cars.

The name of the car is correctly pronounced «Kýntash», it is taken from the Piedmont dialect of the Italian language and has nothing to do with bullfighting, although most Lamborghini models are named after bulls.

Countach was produced from 1974 to 1990, only 1983 cars were made during all that time, but this coupe became the symbol not only of the company, but also of the Italian design for a long time.

Therefore, the company simply could not miss the half-century anniversary.

Revived supercar Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is not an independent model, but special series, created on the existing units.

The main feature is design in the style of the original model. Over 16 years of production Countach has got a lot of spoilers, wideners and air intakes, but chief designer of the company Mitya Borkert with his team focused on the very first prototype of 1971, which look was created by Marcello Gandini.

The new Countach, too, has no fixed antifender and other protruding elements on the body.

The new style includes front and stern design, shape of wheel arches. With the help of black inserts is simulated the characteristic lower edge of the windshield, similar made side air intakes.

The white color of the first copy is the same as the Countach LP 400 S, driven by Ferruccio Lamborghini himself, with the choice of other colors from the original model’s palette.

The only pity is that the company did not decide to make lifting headlights and a «one-arm» wiper with a parallelogram mechanism.

There are also new elements — for example, the central section of the roof, made of electrochromic glass, the transparency of which can be changed by pressing a button.

The wheels, of course, are modern — 20 inches in diameter at the front and 21 inches at the rear, and the brakes are carbon-ceramic.

But under the carbon-fiber body panels there is a hybrid supercar Lamborghini Sian, which, in turn, is made on the basis of a serial model Aventador.

The new Countach has the same chassis and power unit. Atmospheric V12 6.5 engine produces 780 hp.

And a modest electric motor is built into the ISR (Independent Shifting Rods) robotized gearbox with a single clutch.

It works with a voltage of 48 volts and produces only 34 hp. The peak power of the unit is 814 hp.

Instead of the traditional traction battery, the Countach (like the Sian) has a supercapacitor, which is three times lighter than a similar battery in terms of capacity and has a much higher level of energy exchange.

The dry mass of the car is 1,595 kg instead of the Sian’s 1,622 kg. Acceleration time to «hundred» — 2.8 seconds, the mark in 200 km/h coupe takes 8.6 seconds. Maximum speed is 355 km/h.

The interior of the Kuntash is modern, and the style of the original model is made only in trim with its characteristic stitching and color combination.

There are virtual instruments and a media system with an 8.4-inch screen.

By pressing the special Stile button, you can watch a video presentation about the design and philosophy of the model.

The production run of the new Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 coupe is 112 copies: in honor of the in-plant index LP112, which belonged to the original Countach model.

Deliveries of marketable cars will start in the first quarter of 2022. The current Countach and the limited edition Aventador Ultimae will be the last Lamborghini cars with the current V12 engine, and a new generation with a full hybrid system is expected in 2024.
