Three years ago, Mark Philip Gemballa founded the company of the same name, Marc Philipp Gemballa, thereby deciding to continue the work of his late father, Uwe Gemballa from Gemballa.
The first project of the new enterprise was an off-road supercar, which during development was known under the working name «Project Sandbox», and will enter the market under the name «Marsien».
It is reported that the creation of such a car, Mark Philippe was inspired by the sports car Porsche 959, which took part in the 1985 Paris-Dakar off-road marathon.
The project was based on the new Porsche 911 Turbo S (992). The two-door received an original carbon body, while Alain Dérosier from the Porsche Design Center was involved in the work on its appearance.
Outside, the «Martian» attracts attention with a developed aerodynamic body kit, the components of which are just reminiscent of the aforementioned Porsche 959.
Also, the car is notable for the new wheels with a central nut fastening. Depending on the wishes of the client, they can be “shod” either in asphalt tires or in off-road tires.
Among the innovations in the cabin is the appearance of a two-story central tunnel (like on the Porsche Carrera GT).
Plus, lightweight seats are installed in the cabin, and the interior itself is trimmed with leather and carbon fiber.
It is known that the length of an off-road supercar reaches 4,714 mm (+ 179 in comparison with the donor car), and in width — 2,030 mm (+ 130). The underbody of the car has aluminum protection.
The chassis of the original German sports car has undergone a major overhaul, and here employees of the KW Automotive company were already involved.
As a result, the car lost the standard MacPherson struts in front, having received a double wishbone suspension instead.
The rear multi-link remains structurally the same, but all its components have been replaced with new ones.
Plus, the Martian boasts adaptive shock absorbers and a hydraulic system that allows you to adjust the ground clearance in the range from 120 to 250 mm.
For a surcharge for the model, you can order an off-road suspension from Reiger, which is characterized by increased wheel travel and fixed ground clearance.
The supercar from Mark Philip Gemballa is driven by a standard 3.7-liter boxer biturbo engine.
However, the engine here is modified, and it was tuned by the specialists of the Ruf company, which has been tuning Porsche for a long time.
They managed to increase the engine output to 750 hp. (+ 100) and 930 Nm (+ 180).
If this seems insufficient to someone, then for a surcharge, new turbochargers are available, the installation of which allows you to squeeze 830 forces out of the engine.
In addition, the model has a redesigned cooling system, as well as a reinforced PDK robot and an all-wheel drive transmission.
New off-road presets designed for driving on gravel, mud, sand and snow have been added to the driving modes familiar from the donor sports car.
Compared to the donor coupe, the Martian is capable of accelerating from zero to a hundred in 2.6 seconds (- 0.1), and the 200 km / h bar obeys it after 7.8 seconds from the start.
On the asphalt, the two-door can be accelerated up to 335 km / h (+ 5).
The circulation of the off-road Marc Philipp Gemballa Marsien will be only 40 copies, with half of them already pre-ordered.
The first finished vehicles will be delivered to customers by the end of 2021.
Meanwhile, the price tag for an off-road supercar «bites» — from 495,000 euros (43.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate), and this is without taking into account the donor car, which itself costs from € 222,000 (19.5 million rubles).
