In 2020, the company from Stuttgart continues to demonstrate the vector of development of its products towards electrification, because in addition to the updated design, motor range and electronic assistants, we are waiting for a fully electric version of eVito. What specifically will the Germans offer below.

Specifications

The highlight of the new generation of Mercedes-Benz Vito was a more serious technical equipment along with the desire for the economy of decoration and interior.
Since the last nuances have changed slightly, it is worth paying special attention to the engine compartment and the trolley.

The platform, as before, was borrowed from T4 Transporter. Which is characterized by a longitudinal arrangement of the engine and front-wheel drive (there is also rear-wheel drive), which can be observed in the Vito base. Four-wheel drive will be offered as an option.

Now the list has a 9-band robot. For fans of the classic performance, a 6-speed manual and a 7-band automatic will also remain.

Regarding the engine range, the list includes a newcomer in the form of a 2-liter turbodiesel for 4 cylinders, which apparently replaced the same 2.1-liter diesel, since the latter does not appear on the novelty.

For those who are unfamiliar with past generations, it is worth knowing that the base will have a 1.7-liter turbodiesel with two boost options — 102 and 136 hp, while front-wheel drive will come with this engine.

Full and rear-wheel drive versions will be equipped with the above-mentioned 2-liter turbodiesel, which offers as many as 4 boost options — 136, 163, 190 and 239 hp.

You can see that both engines will have 136 hp. According to Mercedes representatives, the driving experience will be completely different. Actually, the difference in the drive will also be felt.
Now it’s worth talking about the main thing — the electric version of the minibus.

eVito is not a hybrid, but a full-fledged electric car. So far, a single-engine front-wheel drive version will be available, but there are rumors that this line will be expanded after an assessment of demand. And the demand will obviously be.

The electric trolley receives a 204 hp engine on the front axle and a 100 kWh battery. Such a bundle will allow you to drive up to 420 km on a single charge. Naturally, in an unloaded state.

By the way, this indicator is indicated taking into account that the computer will not allow the battery to discharge below the 10% indicator, which should fruitfully affect the cell longevity.

As usual, there were no significant changes in the body part of the van. The decor was very precisely adjusted and, as usual, a new design of the rims was introduced.

In particular, the false lattice received a chrome finish, while maintaining the old shape. Alloys will be available in 17-19-inch sizes.

Remarkably, the electric version of the Mercedes-Benz Vito 2020 can only be distinguished by the corresponding nameplate and the missing muffler nozzle. The grill will not be closed.

Inside, the picture is similar. Only the new seat trim, the modified design of the ventilation deflectors and the digital rear-view mirror are seen. And if you turn the ignition key, you can additionally see a completely new multimedia interface on the same 7-inch screen.

During operation, the addition of support for mobile interfaces and an improved adaptive cruise in conjunction with emergency braking are also detected.

Otherwise, everything is the same as in the previous generation. Seats, including the driver, are still seven.

Price and sales start date

Sales of the new Mercedes Vito have already started, both in Europe and in Russia. True, the electric version is not presented in our country.
