Mullen Five: an electric crossover with acceleration to a hundred faster than 3.5 seconds.

The Mullen Company of America has unveiled the Five 2021 electric sports crossover at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The novelty has a coupe-like body with narrow headlights and lights. It also has recessed door handles and 23-inch wheels.

Interior of the car is designed in a minimalist style. The front panel is trimmed with wood, and there are almost no physical buttons on it.

Just behind the steering wheel is a miniature dashboard display, and the multimedia system has a separate tablet.

It is known that there are three options for the crossover. Specifically the middle version «Touring» has separate seats on the second row with a high central console between them.

The developers do not tell much about the equipment, but the model is promised an active noise cancellation system and face recognition technology.

The latter may be useful if the car is used by several people (it activates certain settings for a particular driver).

Information about the technical filling of the Mullen Five is again not much. It is reported that the base version of the model has two electric motors, that is all-wheel drive.

It is able to accelerate from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.2 seconds. The traction battery of such a crossover has a capacity of 95 kWh and is capable of providing a range of 325 miles (523 km).

According to the developers, it takes just 21 minutes to replenish 80% of the battery in a fast station.

A more powerful RS-version is also announced for the model, which will get special decor and carbon-ceramic brakes.

It is reported that this variant will be able to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in just 1.9 seconds, reaching speeds of over 322 km/h.

Prices for Mullen Five are already known: you can buy the crossover for $ 55,000 (4.0 million rubles at current exchange rate), although a more advanced Touring variant is estimated at $ 75,000 (almost 5.5 million rubles).

The company has opened the reception of pre-orders, and book a car you can leave a deposit of $ 100 (7 300 rubles).

However, «live» cars won’t appear soon, as the company plans to start production only in the fourth quarter of 2023, so the first customers won’t get their cars until the twenty-fourth.
