Nissan unveiled its electric pickup truck.

The automaker’s $17.65 billion investment in electrification includes 3 new all-electric models.

The Surf-Out is one of three new all-electric concepts unveiled by Nissan.

Nissan revealed an all-electric pickup truck as part of its next-generation product plan, which could be the answer to models from most automakers, from Ford to Tesla. The Surf-Out concept is an unusual outdoor activity vehicle with an open cab for easy access to the body.

The back door is fully digitized, even allowing you to exchange messages with other road users.

Meanwhile, an aerodynamic canopy is also provided for the bodywork, turning the model into something similar to the Tesla Cybertruck.

At the front, the grille is surrounded by circular lighting and adorned with the brand name.

Surf-Out is one of three new all-electric concepts Nissan unveiled Monday, as the company announced an investment of 2 trillion yen ($17.65 billion) over the next five years to increase the number of electrified vehicles, introducing 23 new vehicles worldwide by the end of the decade.

All three concepts involve thinner, lighter and more powerful solid-state batteries, which Nissan promises to release by the fiscal year ending March 31, 2029.

Other next-generation concepts unveiled by Nissan include a sleek, bullet-shaped, open-top sports model called the Max-Out and a squat SUV called the Hang-Out. Nissan says the next-generation electric vehicle platform will be ultra-lightweight, with front and rear engines, a very low center of gravity and advanced e-4ORCE systems and the ProPilot automated driving system.

Nissan is preparing 23 new models.

Twenty of them will be released in the next five years. We will also see four new concepts.

Nissan has decided to accelerate the creation of new models, and by 2030 the company will release 23 new models, of which 15 will be all-electric.

By 2050, Nissan wants to become carbon-neutral, which means all new products will be electrified, with e-POWER hybrid technology as the driving force.

To ensure this vision doesn’t stay just on paper, Nissan will continue to work on lithium-ion batteries and adopt cobalt-free technology, which will reduce battery costs by 65% by 2028.

An electric car with solid-state batteries, which will cost about $75 per 1 kWh, will also appear in that timeframe.

During the presentation of the company’s Ambition 2030 plan, images of four electric concepts were presented: Nissan Chill-Out, Nissan Max-Out, Nissan Surf-Out and Nissan Hang-Out.
