Judging by the spy photos, the new model won’t get huge changes at the back and the lights will have the same great design as the five-door model. Of course, with a large trunk door with a low loading threshold.

The new Astra wagon will also have an advanced interior, a more modern concept dominated by connectivity and digital technology.

The instrument panel will consist of a large screen with the addition of a touchscreen section in the center console, which will be slightly oriented towards the driver. The Pure Panel concept debuted on the new Mokka.

The new Astra Sports Tourer will be one of the brand’s greatest new products at the Geneva Motor Show in February 2022.

The commercial launch will take place in September with the same lineup of gasoline, diesel and two plug-in hybrids with a maximum output of up to 225 hp.

In almost three months, German car company Opel will open pre-orders for its next-generation Astra compact hatchback.

This is when the manufacturer will get busy preparing for its next big debut. It will be preparing to bring the Astra Sports Tourer 2022 family station wagon to market.

To a greater extent the development of the new model will also be done by Stellantis specialists.

It is quite clear that the Astra will get additional volume due to the greater length of the body, which will increase after the rear axle.

In addition to the fact that it will provide additional space in the luggage compartment, the space for rear passengers will also increase noticeably.

On the presented rendering you can see only the rear part of the wagon. The thing is that the front remains untouched.

But at the back, you can see a very sloped windshield luggage door, slim lights, divided into two segments, with the original internal light pattern, additional ventilation holes in the bumper, which can also be built in PTFs.

Above the windshield sits a small black spoiler with a built-in brake light.

Inside, the Astra wagon will be almost identical to the hatchback. The main feature of the model will be an avant-garde dashboard, dubbed Pure Panel.

The biggest difference between the two bodies, as already mentioned, will be the volume of the trunk both in the standard position and with the folded backs of the rear row of seats.

The list of equipment for the station wagon is likely to be fully consistent with the hatchback.

The mechanical part of the model will also consist of seven different engines. The range of the hatchback currently includes several gasoline and diesel powertrains, as well as hybrid units.

The power of the engine lineup ranges from 110 to 225 hp. To the wheels, the entire output is transmitted, depending on the chosen variant, through a 6-speed manual or 8-band automatic transmission.

It is worth noting that the Opel Astra Sports Tourer will be one of the most eagerly awaited novelties at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2022.

Sales of the model in Europe should start only next summer.
