The Swedish racing team Cyan Racing continues to produce one-piece restomods based on the classic Volvo P1800 coupe; today a GT version is presented, aimed more at public roads than the race track.

The Cyan Racing touring car racing team was originally called Flash Engineering, founded in 1996 by Swedish racer Jan «Flash» Nilsson.

In 2004, Nilsson sold the successful team to its current owner Christian Dahl, who renamed it Polestar Racing and headed for a business rapprochement with Volvo Cars.

Since 2009, Polestar Racing began to serve as Volvo’s court tuning studio.

In 2015, Volvo bought the Polestar Performance tuning division and the Polestar brand itself from Dahl. In 2017, the Polestar brand split from Volvo and became a separate electric vehicle company within the Chinese holding company Geely.
