The Americans have introduced a new electric SUV, the GMC Hummer EV SUV, which is essentially a GMC Hummer EV pickup with a cab in place of the cargo compartment.

Both models use the same platform and identical solutions, but there are still differences due to different positioning.

Firstly, the crossover is a half meter shorter than the pickup (4999.5 mm instead of 5507 mm), as in the city maneuverability and adequate dimensions are more important.

Naturally, the wheelbase is smaller (3218 mm instead of 3445 mm), but there is enough space inside for five people without any problems.

The first version of the Hummer EV2 will get two Ultium Drive electric motors with 625 hp and 7,400 lb-ft (10,033 Nm) of torque, and a range of about 400 km (250+ miles). It will cost $79,995, with sales not starting until spring 2024.

The price of the most affordable version of Cupra Leon is announced: it became even more attractive than «sports» Skoda Octavia and Ford Focus.

There is a new base version in the lineup of «hot» hatchback Cupra Leon 2022, equipped with an engine with an output of 148 hp.

This solution allows to attract new customers. We should note that the new version will initially be available only as a hatchback, but later may appear also a station wagon.

The power plant in the most accessible model uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged TSI gasoline engine which is already familiar from other Volkswagen models.

We shall note that the Spanish brand Cupra is under the control of Seat which is a part of Volkswagen Group structure. The cost of the VZ1 version with a 148-horsepower engine in Europe is 2.07 million rubles at the current exchange rate.

With a greater degree of probability the appearance of the new version will be the last change in the Cupra Leon lineup before the planned restyling. Renewal of the hot hatch will take place in 2023.

Crossover Suzuki S-Cross known to Russians as SX4 is on sale again with atmospheric engine.

However, now it is available only as a «hybrid», and only in the European market (although the UK, the prices for which we will cite below, is not part of the EU).

As Portal Motor found out, 1.5-liter 115 hp atmospheric «four» harnessed to a six-speed «robot», built-in 33-horsepower electric motor and traction battery capacity of 0.84 kilowatt-hours.

It is obvious that the hybrid S-Cross won’t drive far away on one electric traction with such amount of battery, and the fuel consumption turned out to be higher than expected — on the average from 4,33 up to 4,83 liters of petrol per 100 kilometers in the mixed cycle.

It is only 0.09 liters less than the more dynamic and more powerful version with a turbocharged engine.

Drive, by the way, even at the «hybrid» can be both front, and full drive.
