Renault to launch new Megane E-Tech Electric in 2021.
The plans of the management of the French company Renault include the addition of another electric car to its model line.
This machine will be named Megane E-Tech Electric. It was first announced as a Megane eVision show car in October 2020.
Previously received «spy» photos of this electric car hinted that the production version will be very similar to the concept. And the first teaser images, published recently, once again confirmed this.
On the teasers presented, you can see the stern of the model and some interior details, in particular, the digital dashboard and the display of the multimedia system.
The similarity to the concept at the rear can be traced in the optics, which are interconnected by a thin LED strip.
In addition, in the center of the tailgate, you can see the new Renault brand badge, under which there is an inscription with the model name “Megane”
Renault has released a teaser for the all-new 2022 Renault Megane E-Tech Electric ahead of its launch later this year.
The car is heavily inspired by the 2020 Renault Megane eVision concept. An image of the rear of the Megane E-Tech shows that the Captur-sized SUV will be equipped with LED taillights and a full-width light strip.
The interior of the electric vehicle is said to have borrowed elements from the Renault Trezor concept, with an L-shaped infotainment system that seamlessly combines a large screen with a digital dashboard.
According to Renault, high-quality screens and premium materials, as well as innovative design, will be used in all future models.
Other teasers show the Megane E-Tech showroom. It’s worth noting that it looks just like most modern EVs — minimalist and with multiple digital displays.
A capacitive multimedia screen with touch-sensitive buttons sits above several undefined switches and a compartment for a mobile device.
One of the images shows a large storage area at the front of the center console, which sits below the infotainment display. Seats and armrest are stitched with gold contrasting stitching.
Despite its small size, the electric motor delivers 160 kW and 300 Nm of torque, and accelerates the crossover to 100 km / h from standstill in less than 8.0 seconds.
When the refreshed Renault Megane E-Tech arrives, it will be the first to use the all-new CMF-EV architecture developed as part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance.
Renault Megane E-Tech is built on the CMF-EV platform of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. This same «cart» is at the heart of the 2022 Ariya electric car.
The details of the electric powertrain have yet to be revealed, but we won’t have to wait long to find out the details.
The manufacturer claims that the new model will debut in the very near future, and it will go on sale in 2022.
The company’s plans include a strategy according to which, by 2030, 9 out of 10 cars that it sells on the market will be fully electric.
