The Tokio Tuning Show 2022 has been the place to present a mass of new cars.

One of them is the concept car Subaru STI E-RA 2023. This car demonstrates the understanding and direction of the Japanese brand’s future high-performance cars.

The name of the car E-RA stands for Electric Record Attempt. In terms of appearance, the concept car uses a completely new design philosophy of Subaru.

At the front of the car are placed U-shaped LED headlights, which look very sharp.

Accentuates the «face» of the car through the radiator grille. In addition, after turning on the light, you can see a red STI logo. And the entire lower part of the body is equipped with a massive dodger.

On the side of the concept can be seen huge black light-alloy multi-spoke disks.

The manufacturer has installed just a huge spoiler and a noticeable diffuser on the roof of the car.

Thanks to them, the aerodynamic performance of the Subaru STI E-RA will be at its best.

In 2023, the company intends to break the record of passing the lap of the Nürburgring on the production version of the model.

Special mention should be made of the original taillights, represented by multicolored segments.

Unfortunately, the interior of the car was not disclosed at the Tuning Show. However, we should suppose that it will also get a lot of original solutions.

The Japanese novelty is set in motion with the help of four engines, located at each wheel.

The total capacity of all installations is 1,087 horsepower (800 kW). Acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h has not yet been announced by the manufacturer.

It is also reported that the car is equipped with a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery.

The electric sports car was presented at the Tokyo Motor Show. Japanese company has presented it in the status of a concept.

Subaru, like many other automakers working on the global market, is gradually mastering technologies for the development and production of electric cars.

Thus, last autumn the Japanese company presented a completely «green» Solterra parkcar, created within the framework of partnership with Toyota.

This crossover is based on the e-SGP modular platform, and its dimensions are comparable to the Forester.

By the way, during the Tokyo Motor Show, Subaru presented a concept of this «heated» SUV — Solterra STI.

The basis of this show car is the usual production version of the suburban Subaru Solterra: the company does not report any changes in the technical part.

All differences are concentrated in appearance: the show car has a large roof spoiler, which seems to hover over the luggage door, as well as contrasting red accents around the perimeter of the body — on the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser.

The main exhibit of the brand at the exhibition was another concept — Subaru STI E-RA.

This electric hypercar was created as part of the STI E-RA Challange project, which envisages further development of «rosette» technologies for motorsport «in the current carbon-neutral era.»

The creation of the «green» sports show car was handled by the Subaru Tecnica International division.

So far, the company offered to get acquainted with the exterior of the coupe Subaru STI E-RA: the car was equipped with different aerodynamic elements, including a large splitter at the front and a huge antifender at the rear.

Such a car, obviously, is prepared exclusively for track driving. Its length is 5010 mm, width — 2000 mm, height — 1310 mm, and the distance between the axles is 2690 mm.

Weight of the electric race coupe is 1690 kg. The hypercar is equipped with a traction battery with a capacity of 60 kWh.

The car has a full drive: each wheel has an electric motor with individual control, they are created by Yamaha developers.

The cumulative output of this power plant is 1,088 hp, and the maximum torque is 1,100 Nm. Subaru is still silent about the dynamic performance of the STI E-RA.

Instead, the Japanese have named one of the goals, which should achieve a racing coupe: the question is about the time of a circle at the Nurburgring, which is expected to be less than 6 minutes and 40 seconds.

Now the STI division has only just begun running tests of the electric sports car.

The company will probably spend at least a year on the tests: the coupe will drive on the famous track in Germany in 2023.
