The Japanese brand «Suzuki», after a year’s break, is bringing to the market an updated crossover crossover.

The model was named Suzuki SX4 2021 and has a more modern appearance, better performance and a more comfortable interior.

At the same time, the new model will retain an affordable cost, seriously adding to the equipment, and it will be beneficial to stand out in the stream not only among classmates, but even some more expensive models by combining the style of past years and cutting-edge design developments.

The manufacturer also claims that the car will perfectly cope with both city traffic and exits to where the road ends.

Exterior

Restyling had a positive effect on the appearance of the crossover, which now looks aggressive, courageous, and in some ways even brutal.

Judging by the photo of the novelty, the second generation of the car received many original solutions that will be of interest primarily to young and middle-aged drivers who prefer to use the car not only in the city, but also for outdoor activities.

The muzzle of the 2021 Suzuki CX4 is not large in size and contains a trapezoidal windshield, a muscular, slightly forward-tilted hood, as well as a wide air intake cutout directly in front of it with a chrome-plated perimeter and an original large pattern.

At the edges of the grille, you can find rounded headlights with halogen or xenon filling, depending on the equipment.

The body kit looks quite voluminous here and contains several decorative relief transitions. In the middle of it there is a large reserve air intake for cooling the engine compartment, and along the edges there are recesses for areas for fog lights.

In profile, the new body looks more relaxed. Attention here is drawn to the strong tilt angle of the A-pillars and C-pillars, which makes the upper part of the vehicle look very streamlined.

The three-sectional shape of the windows is distinguished by its simplicity of shape, relatively large dimensions, as well as wide dividing posts.

The signature relief begins below, combining sharp edges and smooth transitions. All this is complemented by powerful plastic protection running along the bottom of all body elements, as well as circular wheel arches with bright, large discs inside.

At the back, the car stands out little from other crossovers. It starts with a spoiler visor covering a large rounded window, and below it goes into a slightly inflated trunk lid with large inserts of side lights, nameplates and relief, including stamping under the license plate.

The plastic body kit contains fog lights, a brake light repeater and a decorative metal-plastic insert.

Interior

Since the crossover is not expensive, the interior trim of the new 2021 Suzuki CX4 cannot be called rich.

Of the finishing materials, here you can find only plastic, two types of fabric and eco-leather, the multimedia system has only the most necessary options, and the chairs cannot be called comfortable.

Control and management bodies

The torpedo is made quite modestly and is not large in size. On the left, here you can find an analog instrument cluster with tachometer and speedometer sensors, as well as a bright on-board computer in the middle.

Seats and luggage compartment

The car is designed for a one-time movement of five people. The front row contains two not the most comfortable chairs with medium soft filling, a kind of lateral support, heating and mechanical or electric drives for adjusting the position.

The back sofa is equipped with solid headrests, as well as a folding center armrest, but the «gallery» cannot be called too comfortable.

But the trunk, the useful area of ​​which is close to 450 liters, is quite good. In addition, as was established on a test drive, its volume can be increased to 900 liters by folding the rear seats.

Specifications

With a relatively modest dimensions of 4.3 by 1.76 and 1.585 meters, respectively, the Suzuki SX4 2021 has a good 2.6-meter wheelbase and a ground clearance of 180 mm.

All this contributes to the improvement of the off-road performance of the car, especially when it comes to modifications with all-wheel drive rather than front-wheel drive.

The SUV from «Suzuki» will enter the domestic market with two engines: a 1.6-liter aspirated engine for 117 «horses» or a 1.4 turbo engine capable of producing 140 forces.

There will also be two gearboxes: a five-speed «mixer» or a six-speed «automatic», and buyers of the version with a more powerful engine will always receive only the second version of the gearbox.

Running tests have confirmed that the car will be able to accelerate and drive quickly, demonstrating good economy and the ability to sometimes move off public roads.

Options and prices

In the initial version, the price of the car will be 1.42 million rubles. For a fully equipped modification, it will be necessary to pay 220 thousand more units of domestic currency.

Sales start in Russia

You don’t have to worry about the release date in Russia: the new Suzuki SX4 has already been offered for sale in the salons of official dealers from the beginning of 2021.
