The assortment of the domestic auto industry will replenish the first Russian crossover in the back of an SUV. This is a new version of the Ulyanovsk SUV — the UAZ 3170 2019 crossover, developed on the theoretical basis of the Patriot brand model.
It is expected that the new model will embody the recognizable configuration of the UAZ model range and the elements of body design that are typical for a typical crossover style.

Charged models will receive an expanded list and working functionality of standard electronics. It is possible that a number of additional paid options will be available to future buyers of basic models. A test drive will show how much trunk space increases after partially dismantling the rear seats.
Specifications.
The dimensions of the new crossover adapted to the features of a single platform of a modular type in the ratio of 4600 x 1930 and 1770 mm meet the requirements of the standards for compact European counterparts. More advanced driving characteristics and an increased level of safety promises:
extended center distance to 2850 mm;
anti-roll bars;
anti-lock circuit and four-wheel drive chassis.
200 mm of clearance is enough to overcome sections of the track with a problematic terrain and water obstacles up to 50 cm deep. The chassis has an independent linkage axle suspension, a full range of disc brakes and an electro-hydraulic power steering.
The basic version of the novelty is by default equipped with an in-line gasoline “aspirator” ZMZ with parameters of 2.5 l / 145 hp / 240 Nm of peak torque.
In the top modifications, versions of the 2.3-liter gasoline power unit with an output of 150 hp / 330 Nm and 170 hp / 350 Nm will be installed.
The engine range will be equipped with mechanical and automatic transmissions, allowing to realize the power characteristics of engines with maximum efficiency.
According to the latest data, a car in the weight range of 1,600-1,800 kg will be able to reach speeds of up to 190 km / h. Information on the dynamics of acceleration and fuel consumption is not yet available.
Options and prices.
The UAZ leadership does not refute the information that the new UAZ 3170 crossover 2019 model year will be available in a basic and more advanced top-end in terms of comfort. The price of the novelty is expected to be higher than the cost of the branded Patriot, but at an affordable level for domestic motorists.
Start of sales in Russia.
Ulyanovsk machine builders plan to start mass production of a domestic crossover in the middle of the future, 2020. The exact release date in Russia is being clarified.
Competing Models.
The main part of competitors is analogues of foreign, European and Asian brands of the same type by purpose and cost. In addition to branded UAZ developments, the list includes extreme versions of the KIA Sportage, Nissan X-Trail and Subaru Forester models.
