Volkswagen did not delay the presentation of the new hot-hatch Golf 8 GTI.

In addition to the GTI version, the Germans presented two more modifications for the 8th generation Golf.
The Golf GTD variant is powered by a 2.0-liter TDI diesel from the new EA288 evo family with dual-circuit recirculation and sequential urea injection, developing 200 hp. and 400 Nm of torque. It is combined exclusively with the DSG robot.
There is also a hybrid Golf GTE, where a 1.4-liter 150-horsepower TSI is combined with a DQ400e preselective robotic transmission with a built-in 116 horsepower electric motor.
In total, they give 245 forces and 400 Nm, and a traction battery with a capacity of 13 kWh is responsible for powering the electric motor.
The hybrid version of the GTU is capable of stretching up to 60 kilometers exclusively on electric traction, while the maximum speed should not exceed 130 km / h.
The batteries can be recharged from an outlet, but the time to fully charge them is not specified. In addition, the top-end 333-horsepower «charged» Golf R with all-wheel drive will appear later in the lineup.
It takes 6.4 seconds to accelerate from zero to hundreds of cars, and the speed limit is electronically limited to 250 km / h.
The model also received a modified chassis with a rear multi-link suspension and a ground clearance reduced by 15 mm, while a DCC chassis with adaptive shock absorbers can be ordered for a surcharge.
Also in the list of equipment is an electronic imitation of the XDS differential lock.
The start of sales of the new Volkswagen Golf VIII GTI on the European market fell on the summer of the twentieth year, and quite unexpectedly, they decided to supply such a version to Russia.
