The press service of the Russian division of Volkswagen announced yesterday that live sales of the most compact crossover Taos were launched in dealerships.
Domestic car enthusiasts will be able to choose one of the four available vehicle options, the price of which ranges from 1,626,900 to 2,023,400 rubles.
This SUV is located lower in the range than the Tiguan model. Its body has the following dimensions — 4417x1841x1602 mm.
The crossover received a fairly dynamic appearance thanks to an unusual front end, as well as navigation lights, complemented by an LED strip insert.
On the territory of the Russian Federation, the new Volkswagen Taos is available with atmospheric or turbocharged engines.
The first is a 1.6-liter petrol engine producing 110 «horses». A 5-speed manual gearbox and a front-wheel drive system are involved with it.
An alternative to this installation is a 1.4-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 150 horsepower. It is paired with an «automatic» and a front-wheel drive system or a «robot» and a permanent four-wheel drive.
One of the main technological features of the car is its state-of-the-art multimedia system, which none of the Volkswagen representatives sold on the Russian market can boast of.
This installation assumes the ability to connect to Wi-Fi access points, control a number of built-in capabilities using touch switches, as well as use applications from Yandex.
The car, despite its status as the main «state employee» of the company among crossovers, is equipped with a mass of modern features and systems that help the driver to feel confident on the road in any conditions
Buyers are gravitating towards affordable crossovers and SUVs, and the new 2022 Volkswagen Taos is another option for compact cars.
Although smaller than the compact VW Tiguan, the subcompact Taos has a surprisingly spacious rear seat and large cargo area.
Externally, the Taos looks familiar, this is because VW designed the small SUV to look like a scaled-down version of the Volkswagen Terramont.
