Alfa Romeo Disco Volante 2022.
A designer has created an Alfa Romeo Disco Volante 2022 with the iconic Busso V6 engine.
Independent designer Bekin Aivazi has submitted illustrations that are in no way affiliated with or approved by Alfa Romeo or Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera.
Several years ago, the Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera introduced the stunning Alfa Romeo Disco Volante Spyder, based on the 8C Competizione.
Inspired by this model, as well as the original Disco Volante from the 1950s, car designer Bekin Ayvazi created a new model that looks simply sensational.
The car’s exterior form draws inspiration from the design of its predecessors.
The front end is particularly eye-catching, as Aivazi created a pair of round headlights with daytime running lights, as well as an Alfa Romeo front grille and a pair of large air intakes for engine cooling.
As for the engine, Bekin Ayvazi designed his dream Disco Volante based on the Italian automaker’s legendary Busso V6, which was produced from 1979 to 2005, with 247 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque.
One of the most interesting views of the car is from the side. Like the original Disco Volante, part of the front fender protrudes over the wheel, a design feature that immediately makes the car stand out on the road.
Elsewhere, the designer created aggressive black side skirts and triangular door handle cutouts. Finally, the rear of the front-engine sports car features simple round LED taillights, a third brake light lower on the bumper, and a pronounced diffuser.
The seller does not advertise the cost of the car, but the price tag is definitely very high. For example, a donor 8C Competizione sold out in 1,000 copies now costs on average over $300,000 (22.0 million rubles at current exchange rates).
Disco Volante exterior
When creating the model, the authors seem to have bridged the gap between the past and the present. Even though the signature style of Alfa Romeo catches the eye immediately, there is an attempt to repeat elements of the progenitor.
The chromed lines from the door handles to the radiator grille as if to emphasize the connection of times. The body is similar to the forms of modern sports cars. The new elements include oval exhaust pipes and round taillights with horizontal lines.
At the front, the car is equipped with lensed optics. All elements of the body are made of aluminum. The rear arches, bumper and trunk lid are designed as a single piece.
This is made possible thanks to the hand-assembly. The grille is made in the classic style of the brand — a triangle with the coat of arms of a snake and a red cross.
The car is longer, lower and wider than the original. The car looks like a flattened rocket capsule.
Interior
The interior of the Disco Volante is absolutely identical to the stuffing of the «donor». The slight difference is that more expensive materials are used when finishing the successor.
Seats of the two-seater coupe are made of carbon fiber and covered with natural leather. Recessed seats with support on the sides give a unique feeling of being in a sports car.
The three-spoke steering wheel is covered with leather and alcantara. Two deep wells — speedometer and tachometer are hidden on the instrument panel. Between them there is an on-board computer.
The central console is made of aluminum inserts. Here are buttons to start the engine «Start engine», buttons to control modes of the gearbox, mechanical handbrake.
The car is equipped with climate control, audio system with a retractable screen and the possibility of voice control. The steering wheel and brake pedal feature the company logo.
Technical Specifications
The Alfa Romeo Disco Volante is powered by Maserati’s V-shaped 8-cylinder engine with multi-point injection.
The engine has a displacement of 4.7 liters. Power of the engine in horsepower is 450 units. Torque is 470 H*m and the engine produces 4,750 rpm.
Maximum possible speed — 291 km / h, from 0 to 100 km plate will fly in 4.2 seconds. Gearbox — robotized six-speed, drive type — rear.
