There is good news for sedan fans too. The Alfa Romeo Giulia 2023 will be fully electric in the future.

So said the CEO of the company. This model should become a competitor to BMW 3-Series. By 2027, Alfa Romeo wants to become an all-electric brand.

This means that there is not much time left for internal combustion engines.

The new Giulia is due next year. It will still be equipped with gasoline and diesel engines.

This version will last a few years before becoming an electric car.

According to the company, the Tonale crossover has completely taken the place of the Giulia, so it is unknown what form the new sedan will debut in.

The current version of the car is currently a Euro-centric model, while its indirect replacement will go global to better fit the company’s expansion plans.

The brand also said the company has plans for a few sporty models.

It will be inspired by the Duetto and Tipo 33. But for now, the company is focusing on developing and releasing new SUVs.

By 2027, four new models of this type are expected to be released. Stellantis hopes that the Tonale will sell 100,000 units a year or more.

Thus, the number of deliveries will double from 2021.

Speaking about the Alfa Romeo Giulietta hatchback, the company’s CEO explained that it is unlikely to return to the brand’s range as its place has essentially been taken by the compact Tonale.

The point here is that Giulietta was the car created mainly for Europeans, as it has compact sizes that are most suitable for style of this continent.

At the same time, the Tonale, which to some extent is its successor, is a global model capable of going far beyond Europe, since crossovers, especially compact ones, are now valued almost everywhere.

Also, Imparato previously admitted that the production of single variants of sports models, some of which will be inspired by the Duetto and Tipo 33, is not ruled out.

Nevertheless, there is no official confirmation of the start of development of at least one of them yet, and all efforts are focused on the production of new crossovers.
