In 2025, Alfa Romeo may release the last supercar with an internal combustion engine: the model will get a motor from the crossover Stelvio.
In the summer of 2018, Alfa Romeo showed a new product roadmap, among which were the GTV and 8C models.
They were expected to be shown this year. Unfortunately, a year later, the brand changed its mind about releasing the Giulia Coupe and mid-engine supercar.
However, a new report from the company shows that we will see another powerful Alfa Romeo car with an internal combustion engine before the brand completely switches to electricity.
One reliable source told us that we will see a rough concept of the supercar as early as next year.
If it will raise enough excitement, the car will be produced in limited edition by 2025.
Under its hood, presumably, there will be a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that develops 505 horsepower and 600 N*m of torque in the Stelvio model.
It’s worth mentioning that the company recently sold the Giulia GTA/GTAm with a 533 horsepower six-cylinder unit.
The report also indicates that a hybrid powertrain with Formula 1 technology could be developed.
A future revival of the 8C supercar could get a carbon-fiber monocoque.
Sauber or Maserati will help in its development. It is possible to treat this information skeptically, but the Italian brand can well say goodbye to V6, because only electric cars will be produced in 2027.
For example, a new generation Giulia with an electric powertrain has already been officially announced.
Alfa Romeo had no problem selling 500 copies of the GTA/GTAm versions.

The result was the new auto giant Stellantis: the previous names of the transaction participants are no longer used.
