The Alfa Romeo Tonale concept crossover debuted back in March 2019, but the production car has yet to appear.

The parkette was ready for release a year ago, but the management of the newly formed Stellantis Concern sent it for revision at the last moment.

And now the waiting is coming to an end: it is announced that the serial Alfa Romeo Tonale will be presented on February 8.

And at the end of December the company published a video, at the end of which the ready car showed off.

The 4,5 meters long Tonale will make competition to Audi Q3 or Mercedes GLA parkettes.

It will be the last Alfa on the platform of the former FCA corporation (we mean the «bogie» Small Wide LWB with the transverse arrangement of the engine on which Jeep Compass is built): all subsequent models of the brand are already designed on unified platforms of concern Stellantis that have French origin.

Besides, Tonale will become the first rechargeable hybrid of Alfa Romeo brand: according to preliminary information, the title power plant will develop about 240 hp, though other modifications are also expected.

Start of production is scheduled for March: the Tonale will be produced in Italy, at Fiat’s Mirafiori plant in Turin.

And in the majority of markets the new model will appear by the summer. But the Alfa Romeo brand has not been represented in Russia since 2016.

The length of the new crossover Alfa Romeo Tonale reaches 4,5 meters. It is built on the Small Wide LWB platform.

And for the architecture itself, the new crossover will become a kind of «farewell» model.

All other novelties of the brand will be based on the unified Stellantis platforms.

However, it’s clear that production will start in March, which suggests that a few days before that all the details of the car will be revealed, as well as details about the technical stuffing and the date of the premiere.

The full launch of the Alfa Romeo Tonale should take place in early 2022. According to the same sources from Italy, the launch will take place on June 4.

The car will be offered with a full set of four-cylinder engines linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
