Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider 2022. Aston Martin’s Valkyrie hypercar has gained a Spider version.
Aston Martin has officially unveiled the Valkyrie V12 Spider, which is «the fastest and most extreme open-top road supercar in the history of the British brand.»
In terms of exterior design, the Spider-version is almost exactly the same as the closed Valkyrie.
At the same time, the modification does not have the doors of the kettle-wing type. The British had to refuse the doors because of removable roof panel.
It is reported that the last panel can be easily removed with the flaps open, which are tilted up and forward, providing the most comfortable boarding.
Note that the central part of the removable roof panel is made of carbon fiber and its side sections are made of polycarbonate glass.
There is no exact data about the weight of the model yet, although the developers confirmed that the novelty is slightly heavier than the usual coupe.
It is also known that British specialists had to change aerodynamics of the two-door slightly and strengthen its chassis to compensate absence of full-fledged roof.
In terms of technology the Aston Martin Valkyrie V12 Spider repeats the standard coupe.
A 6,5-liter atmospheric V12 engine producing 1,000 h.p. and a 160 h.p. electric motor developed by Rimac and Integral Powertrain drive the hypercar.
The total output of these units reaches 1,150 hp at 10,500 rpm and 900 Nm available at 6,000 rpm.
By the way, the engine itself is able to spin up to 11,100 rpm. No doubt, when driving with an open top such installation sounds simply stunning.
It is known that in closed condition Valkyrie Spyder can reach speed over 350 km/h, whereas with dismantled roof maximal speed is a little bit lower — just over 330 km/h.
About the acceleration dynamics from a place up to a hundred British do not spread.
The company plans to build only 85 copies of the open hypercar at a price of 2 310 000 pounds sterling each (234.2 million rubles at current exchange rates), which can be ordered both with right and left-hand drive.
Shipment of the first cars to customers will begin in the second half of 2022.
