Externally, the model repeats the A6 e-tron liftback presented in 2021.

Technically, both cars are widely unified. The station wagon supports 270 kW of charging power, and the range reaches 700 km.

The overall dimensions of the model: length — 4.96 m, width — 1.96 m, height — 1.44 m. The aerodynamic drag coefficient is 0.24.

Technical Specifications

The electric car is built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform, which is designed for the new electric cars of the brand.

Two electric motors together produce 476 horsepower.

Battery capacity is not disclosed, according to unofficial information — 100 kWh.

It takes a charge from a station with a capacity of up to 270 kW. The concept car has an air suspension with adaptive shock absorbers.

The serial Audi A6 e-tron Avant will be available with rear or all-wheel drive, one or two electric motors and batteries of different capacities.

On sale on the European market Audi A6 e-tron will appear in 2023. Cost is not reported yet.

The German automaker has unveiled a prototype of the premium A6 Avant E-tron wagon.

The electric car promises flagship specs: a range of 700 kilometers, 270 kW charging support, acceleration to 100 km/h in less than four seconds, and a number of smart features like video game and movie projection with headlights.

Audi calls this car «a fully tangible look at future production models» — the A6 Avant E-tron itself is not yet ready for production, but the company will start producing electric cars based on its technology after 2023.

Last summer, Audi announced its Vorsprung 2030 brand electrification strategy.

This plan calls for a complete phase-out of gasoline-powered cars in favor of electric cars, developed as part of the E-tron line, by 2033.

Audi has already created two crossovers, a sports car and a sedan for this series, and now it’s the turn of the first station wagon, the A6 Avant, The Verge reports.

According to statements of the automaker, the concept has been developed with a glance at Audi’s classic station wagons, which the company has been producing since 1977.

At the same time, the A6 Avant got some futuristic details from other E-tron models — the electric car comes with a streamlined body, but sharp angles and aggressive design.

Overall, the A6 Avant is positioned as a premium solution for large families.

The A6 Avant E-tron is Audi’s first electric car built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) modular platform.

The electric system was designed in collaboration with Porsche, another VW Group sub-brand, and is intended for a wide range of B, C and D category electric vehicles.

The platform supports 800-volt power, is capable of charging with 270 kW stations, and supports both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

In terms of performance, Audi claims that the A6 Avant is capable of driving up to 700 km on a single charge, according to the WLTP cycle.

If the company doesn’t change this figure closer to the electric car’s release, the A6 Avant will become the brand’s longest-range model. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just under four seconds.

The 100 kWh battery pack built into the bottom of the car can charge from 5% to 80% in about 25 minutes. And in the A6 Avant’s express charging mode, 10 minutes of charging is enough to drive about 300 kilometers.

As for the technological equipment, the main feature of the A6 Avant are the projector headlights.

Instead of conventional LED lamps the new model received Digital Matrix LED — Audi claims that these headlights have «cinematic qualities».

Technically, the A6 Avant can display any movie or video game on any wall in front of it, such as when it’s parked or charging.

Right now, Audi isn’t talking about launching mass production of the A6 Avant. However, the company describes the concept as «production-oriented» and says the electric car could go to assembly lines with minimal changes in design and specifications.

Other Audi electric cars built on a similar PPE platform will be introduced in 2023.
