Audi Activesphere 2024.

Audi Activesphere: all-wheel drive coupe crossover with pickup functionality.

At the heart of the new «spherical» concept of the German brand is the PPE platform. It was equipped with a 442-horsepower twin-engine electric installation.

The premiere of the Sphere concept family was given in 2021, when Audi introduced the Grandsphere large sedan and the two-seater Skysphere roadster with a sliding body.

Last year, the Audi Urbansphere minivan with hinged rear doors added to the list.

It was assumed that this “spherical” line would be completed, however, as a result, the company decided to show another development — it became the Audi Activesphere coupe-shaped crossover.

The concept was created by the American design department of Audi, located in Malibu.

The body of this car has an unusual feature: the crossover received a transformable stern.

So, in the show car, the standard fifth door is replaced by a folding side, and the rear window moves to the roof; the design is electrically driven.

In addition, the car received a lifting partition behind the rear seats, which allows the cargo compartment to be used as a regular pickup truck body.

There is a built-in ski rack on the roof.

The Activesphere concept is 4.98 meters long, 2.07 meters wide and 1.6 meters high.

The distance between the axles is 2.97 meters. The crossover received brutal 22-inch wheels.

Audi equipped the concept with adaptive air suspension: standard ground clearance is a solid 208 mm, and if necessary, it can either be increased or reduced by 40 mm.

The front cap is designed in the form of the original Audi grille.

At the same time, it is made of translucent glass. In addition, similar sections are also found in the lower part of the hinged side doors and in the roof of the Audi Activesphere.

The car also has narrow-shaped head optics and taillights, and rear-view cameras are installed on the sides (instead of traditional mirrors).

The red and black interior of the conceptual crossover is two-row, each row has two separate seats.

The front panel looks minimalistic, there are no screens, as all riders are encouraged to use glasses with augmented reality.

At the same time, they show the driver the readings of the necessary devices, and to control the navigation system and the air conditioning system, you need to use voice commands or gestures.

In addition, Activesphere was equipped with a fourth level autopilot.

Audi’s all-wheel drive concept crossover is based on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) electric platform.

It is equipped with a twin-engine electric power plant, the total output of which is 442 hp, and the maximum torque is 720 Nm.

Activesphere received a traction battery with a capacity of 100 kWh, its range on a single charge reaches 600 km.

Despite the fact that the Audi Activesphere will not reach the series, the company intends to use some of the solutions implemented in the concept when developing future models of the brand.

But the Audi Urbansphere minivan has prospects of becoming a commodity model: it is possible that the production of a car based on this concept will be launched in China in the future.
