Audi Holoride 2023.
Starting in the summer of 2022, Audi will become the first manufacturer to turn an ordinary car into a real virtual reality implementation platform.
Holoride’s virtual reality technology will be available in Audi cars, and as early as this year. «Long journeys should not be boring» is the main motto of this technology.
Not so long ago, representatives of the German brand announced the integration of a virtual reality system Holoride — this technology will be integrated into Audi production models later.
Through the use of Holoride people in cars will be able to watch movies and consume a variety of interactive content. Thus, the trains will be turned into an interesting event.
As stated in a previously published press release, the new technology aims to make automobile travel less tedious through the use of VR or XR.
About the virtual reality technology was told back at the Consumer Electronics Show CES. It is known that Holoride will use a virtual reality headset.
At the moment, the German car brand is the only one to offer rear row passengers the use of virtual reality technology from holoride.
Holoride is an innovative technology that adapts all virtual reality content to the car’s movements in reality: for example, if the car turns right, the spaceship in the imaginary world will also fly right. If the car accelerates, the spaceship also accelerates.
The essence of all this technology comes down to the fact that the passengers in the back spend their time with pleasure, not just looking out the window, but actively participating in driving the car, but only in virtual reality, or rather not even participating, but adjusting to this control.
Audi develops VR and XR technology through the startup holoride, which, incidentally, also offers all manufacturers of technology related to virtual reality.
Since June this year, some models, which received the MIB 3 smart shell, will begin to support the technology of virtual reality.
That is, in other words, the models Audi A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Audi Q5, Q7, Q8, Audi e-tron and Audi e-tron GT Quattro will be able to entertain rear row passengers.
The software will be available all over the European market as well as in Canada, the US, Japan and China.
At the same time, the technology works in the presence of a special unit, and the connection takes place via Bluetooth with low power consumption.
