Audi has released an anniversary special edition of the R8 supercars.
Audi R8 RWD 2020: the Germans have returned to the rear-wheel drive version of the supercar.

Audi has announced the resumption of sales of the rear-wheel drive R8 supercar. Initially, the mono-drive version of the model was presented to the public two years ago under the name RWS, while the Germans then produced only 999 of these cars.

Now, the rear-wheel drive Audi R8 is returning to the market under the name V10 RWD, and its edition is not limited. Such a car can be ordered with both a closed (coupe) and an open (roadster) body type.

The 2020 Audi R8 RWD received the same visual changes as the all-wheel drive variant, which underwent a restyling in the fall of the eighteenth. In particular, the rear-wheel drive supercar has got a new front splitter and modified air intakes.

Plus, the mono-drive modification received a new rear diffuser and large oval exhaust pipes. The color palette has been replenished with the exclusive Kemora Gray, while the front splitter, side skirts and diffuser of the rear-wheel drive supercar are glossy black regardless of body color.

By default, the Audi R8 RWD is supplied on 19-inch forged wheels with tires measuring 245/35 at the front and 295/35 at the rear, but the car can also be ordered with 20 ″ wheels. Plus, packages «Carbon Styling» and «Extended Black Styling» are available for modification, allowing you to further personalize the look of the supercar.

The interior of the car has sports seats with a combined leather and Alcantara trim, and the RWD logo flaunts on the front panel on the passenger side. The supercar is powered by a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 with 540 hp. (540 Nm), which was also equipped with the RWS version.

In conjunction with the engine, the seven-band S Tronic robot is working. Note that the Audi R8 V10 RWD Coupe weighs 1 595 kg, that is, the car is 65 kg lighter than a similar all-wheel drive coupe. As for the rear-wheel drive roadster, its curb weight is 1,695 kg (- 55).

It is reported that from 0-100 km / h the coupe can accelerate in 3.7 seconds, and it can accelerate up to 320 km / h.

In turn, a roadster with a drive only to the rear axle takes the first hundred in 3.8 seconds, and its maximum speed reaches 318 km / h. In both cases, this is 0.3 sec. slower than similar options with all-wheel drive, and the maximum speed is lower by 4 km / h. In the salons of European dealers of the brand, the mono-drive new Audi R8 RWD will appear in 2020, the coupe price starts from 144,000 euros, and the roadster will have to pay at least € 157,000.
