Under the hood of the new Bentley Bentayga S is a standard 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 550 hp, mated to an eight-band automatic.
Consequently, the dynamic characteristics of this SUV remained at the level of the base model: acceleration from 0-100 km / h takes 4.5 seconds, the maximum speed reaches 290 kilometers per hour. At the same time, the modification boasts a retuned suspension.
The developers increased the stiffness of the shock absorbers by 15% and included active electromechanical stabilizers in the list of basic equipment, which drive 48-volt electric motors.
Carbon ceramic brakes and straight-through exhaust remain options.
By default, the stabilization system on the Bentley Bentayga S actively simulates thrust vector control using the standard brakes, which makes the off-road vehicle’s behavior more «lively».
At the same time, the developers have provided for a more relaxed sport mode. In Europe, accepting orders for this version has started: prices for such an SUV start at $ 222,525 (16.3 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
Bentley Bentayga S — new trim for 2022
The 2022 Bentley Bentayga S, unveiled Tuesday, is a more distinctive Bentayga V8 aimed at buyers who love power as well as elegance.
The Bentayga SUV helped lead the Bentley to the best-selling SUV in history, so it only makes sense to keep adding new models to the lineup.
Bentley already offers a standard Bentayga V8, a Bentayga Speed with a W12 engine and a Bentayga Hybrid plug-in, but it will now add a fourth model.
Introducing the Bentley Bentayga From 2022, a sportier version of the Bentayga V8. This model will cost $ 220,000, higher than the base V8 ($ 180,000) but below the Bentayga Speed ($ 245,000).
On the outside, the S looks sportier than the standard Bentayga, with dark headlights, a unique “S” badge, 22-inch wheels and a V8 sports exhaust system.
Black accents, including the body kit and exterior mirror, complete the menacing look. Under the body, the S comes standard with Bentley’s Dynamic Ride Active Anti-roll Bar with Sport Mode.
Bentley gave the S a custom suspension setup, making it 15% stiffer than the standard Bentayga.
Other additional changes include torque vectoring via the braking system and freer exhaust flow for louder sound. Optionally, buyers can opt for the All-Terrain specification with four dedicated off-road modes.
The interior can be easily configured according to the customer’s wishes, but a new “S” color split is available to create a sense of comfort in the interior.
This option adds Alcantara to the seat cushions, backrests, gear lever, steering wheel, upper trim and interior trim.
A new fluted seat design is offered, which can accommodate four, five or seven passengers. The interior looks refined as always, but now with a sportier style.
Bentley says the 2022 Bentayga S will begin arriving at dealerships in fall 2021.
