BMW M2 2023.
A prototype of the high-performance coupe BMW M2 2023 has been spotted on the Nürburgring circuit.
The body of the car was almost completely covered with camouflage.
BMW already unveiled the new 2 Series coupe last month, and of course it will be followed by the debut of a hotter version of the model, which is known under the index M2.
We’ve already seen several instances of prototypes of the more powerful 2 Series representative that gave us an idea of what the new model might look like.
Now we have a chance to witness the «charged» coupe undergoing a series of high-speed tests at the Nürburgring.
The video was kindly provided by the YouTube channel Carspotter Jeroen.
It should be noted that this is not the first time the next-generation BMW M2 has been seen making runs at the Green Hell (as the Nürburgring circuit is called), but this is the first time we’ve seen video of this encounter.
Judging from the video, it appears that the M2 does indeed have an inline-six engine with 450 horsepower and just over 542 Nm of torque.
Unfortunately, the prototype shown above sent power to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission.
However, that doesn’t devalue the fact that there’s still a chance that a manual-shift version of the model will become available to buyers over time.
As for looks, the prototype shown in the video still hides its square false radiator grille — unlike the previous one that foreign journalists captured earlier.
The M2 is expected to be very different from the new 2-Series coupe, at least with its front end.
On the other hand, spy shots and leaks are not yet a confirmation until BMW gives us more information about the upcoming M2.
Either way, we’ll know the truth next year, as the timeline suggests that the «charged» coupe will be shown around the summer of 2022, with production set to begin in December of that year.
Not too long ago, it was revealed that Custom Shop is reimagining the BMW R 1250 R as a futuristic cruiser.
In addition to traditional models like the R 18 and R nineT, the BMWboxer platform also includes the R 1250 GS in heavyweight ADV and the R 1250 R roadster.
