Buick has shown what its electric cars will look like.
A Koenigsegg Gemera-style Wildcat EV concept has been unveiled.
Buick company has presented its concept Wildcat EV. It demonstrates the vector of its brand identity and hints at the upcoming transformation.
Buick will unveil its first electric car in 2024, and perhaps some of the solutions it will borrow exactly from the Wildcat.
In the future, the Wildcat will become a platform for introducing new features — such as artificial intelligence, biometrics and aromatherapy.
In particular, the electronics can monitor the driver’s heart rate, and in case of stress it can dim the lights in the cabin, activate the massage function (in the seat) and «disperse» a pleasant smell.
The Buick Wildcat EV concept «sets the design direction for future models as we move toward an all-electric future.
It is a rather large coupe with 2+2 seating arrangement, the forms and proportions remind Koenigsegg Gemera (length of the Swedish megacar is almost five meters).
Dominants of the prototype’s appearance are sloped front end with a trapezoidal grille, «tick lights» with Micro-LED technology and three-dimensional lamps on the roof.
According to Buick, the Wildcat’s interior is defined by simple, elegant forms that «convey balance, harmony and a sense of warmth.»
There are four displays in the driver’s field of view. The widescreen «dashboard» on the front panel is accompanied by side-view camera screens built into the doors and a touch panel on the console center armrest.
Another important detail is the choice of colors. «Buick uses a quiet combination of white and dark green, along with orange accents and polished and brushed aluminum inserts.
The Wildcat EV prototype will act as a platform for a number of exotic features.
Artificial intelligence, biometrics and even aromatherapy will be widely used.
For example, monitoring of the driver’s heart rate will automatically start relaxing programs in case of stress.
It will be possible to dim the lights, turn on the massage function or fill the cabin with a pleasant aroma.
It’s all part of a larger plan to transform the Buick brand.
According to the strategy, the brand will unveil its first electric car in 2024, and by the end of the decade it will have an all-electric lineup.
