The 2021 Chery Tiggo 8 Plus front-wheel drive mid-size crossover positions itself as a low-cost, practical and functional family car.
The new model with the «+» index differs from the base version in the modified front end design, increased engine power and more advanced LED optics.
Cherie Tiggo 8 model 2021 received a seven-seater cabin layout, advanced technical and electronic equipment, and an expanded range of comfort-forming options.
Exterior
In the photo in the front view, the new body attracts attention with the original corporate design of the front end, which combines the expressive features of the corporate identity with exclusive design trends.
In stock:
• wide plastic perimeter of the windshield;
• Raised stepped sidewalls of the sloping bonnet;
• a large format of a radiator grille decorated with a corporate logo and a chrome trim;
• dynamic strokes of running lights of LED long-range optics.
The lower segment of the front end is designed in a sporty-aggressive style. In the area of attention are the ribbed reliefs of the side diffusers, as well as the blocks of fog lights visually connected by a wide crosspiece.
The arrangement of the front side of the case is completed by a curly protective panel of a small-sized plastic body kit.
In profile projection, Chery Tiggo 8 Plus 2021 confidently demonstrates silver roof rails inclined to the stern, color contrast of chrome-plated perimeter and matte black trim of side windows, mirrors and door handles recessed into the body.
The design features of the sidewalls of the case are a combination of wave and stepped decorative reliefs, a chrome sill strip and a protective plastic «skirt» installed on the lower edge. The multi-spoke design of off-road solid wheels complements the entourage.
When reviewing the new crossover from the rear, attention is drawn to:
• compact format of the tilted rear window, complemented by a spoiler;
• stylish configuration of lanterns connected by LED strip;
• the correct geometry of the wide doorway and the anti-fog lampshades placed on the sidewalls of the wide bumper.
The kit includes fake exhaust pipes and a protective panel. The decorative functionality is partly assigned to numerous elements of the ribbed relief.
Interior
The next restyling in a row had a positive effect on the quality of the interior finishing components, the ergonomics of the internal equipment, and the comfort of all seven seats.
• Almost all command functionality is concentrated on the touch monitors of the multi-mode instrument cluster, the console media-command display and the digital panel for activating and configuring on-board options.
• Additional blocks of command buttons are located on the thickened spokes of the multifunctional sports multifunction steering wheel.
• The technical section of the central tunnel has a joystick for switching modes of transmission, shims and an integrated container for small luggage.
• In the presence of a set of organizers and placed under a wide and soft armrest, a roomy volume of the built-in refrigerator.
In the new modification, Cherie Tiggo 8 Plus will receive several additional comfort-forming options, and the functionality of more modern electronics and active safety systems will also be expanded.
The service of superbly profiled and ergonomically impeccable front row seating includes expanded electrified adjustment ranges, side bolsters, ventilation and heated seats.
The limited list of second- and third-row seats is compensated by large amounts of free space and an adjustable backrest tilt.
In the cabin with a five-seater layout, the rear seats are designed in the form of a comfortable and spacious three-seater sofa, complemented by a folding armrest.
In the seven-seater version of the crossover, the boot volume ranges from 193 to an impressive 1,930 liters.
A compact «dock» is attached under the bottom of the compartment, a spacious niche built into the floor is used for storing accessories.
Specifications
The mid-size characteristics of the car are confirmed by its external dimensions, edited in the ratios of 4700 x 1860 and 1746 mm, the length of the chassis base is 2710 mm and the height of the off-road clearance is 200 mm.
Time-tested operational advantages are used in the design of the novelty:
• front-wheel drive platform T1X with transverse engine placement;
• independent rack-mount and efficient multi-link suspension;
• a complete set of activated anti-roll bars and modern safety systems.
The steering circuit is equipped with an electric power-assisted chassis, a full range of ventilated disc brakes.
The novelty of the lineup will receive a productive power tandem consisting of a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 197 hp / 290 Nm and a Getrag 7-speed robotized transmission.
The test drive of the power unit has already reached the home stretch, but its results are not yet ready for publication.
It is reliably known that the consumption of fuels and lubricants in relation to its predecessor is reduced to 7.4 l / 100 km of run.
Options and prices
In the domestic regions, the new Cherie Tiggo 8 Plus of the 2021 model year will be preliminarily delivered in a top-end modification, the price of which is announced at 1,700,000 rubles.
Deliveries of the basic and transitional models are planned at a later date.
Competing models
The first lines in the list of rivals are occupied by the similar models Skoda Kodiaq, Haval F7, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Outlander and Peugeot 5008.
