The global automotive community has been waiting for the release of Chery Tiggo 8 Pro 2021 for a long time, since the car was positioned as a rather large, stylish crossover at a low cost, capable of competing with venerable European and Japanese manufacturers.

After the premiere of the car in China, we can safely say that these hopes were justified: the new model turned out to be bright, modern in appearance, with a spacious and comfortable interior, as well as decent engine compartment characteristics.

The brand will certainly be able to expand its customer audience, because it is very difficult to get a comfortable car for little money that attracts the attention of upstream neighbors.

Exterior

Even from the photo, you can determine that the new product has become very prettier, having acquired new chrome parts, interesting and functional lighting equipment, as well as new cooling systems.

And the relief transitions, although they remained recognizable, now look more solid, adding brutality to the car.

The strongest restyling went over the face of the car, which is set quite high and has a very impressive length and width. This part of the body begins with a large, sloping windshield, turning into a massive bonnet with raised stepped edges.

Below is a large traditional-shaped grille with a company logo and a large chrome trim. To the right and to the left, large LED headlights adjoin it almost closely, «able» to adapt to the turns of the road, as if «looking» into them.

Below, the Cherie Tiggo 8 Pro 2021 boasts a sporty-aggressive body kit with faceted corner diffusers and fog light blocks that merge into a single whole with a bright LED strip.

There is also a slot for an additional air intake, several aerodynamic transitions and a modest protective strip at the very bottom.

From the side, the new body looks large and imposing. The resilient roof is accentuated by silver roof rails, immediately below which start large, regular-shaped windows in chrome edging. Then comes the relief, mostly smooth, but containing small stepped transitions.

In the area of ​​the thresholds, you can find a decorative chrome strip, as well as a plastic protection that matches it from below. The shape of the profile part is completed by large wheel arches with multi-spoke light-alloy wheels inside, neat rounded mirrors and door handles slightly sunk into the body.

The rear of the car starts with a small visor spoiler that covers the same compact window. Beneath it are cute polygonal side lights, visually linked into a single whole by an LED horizontal line.

The doorway turned out to be quite wide, which makes it easy to load even the overall load. The design of the rear part is completed with a voluminous bumper, on which there was a place for rather large foglights, two slots for the exhaust pipes, as well as a protective strip. Of course, there are also modest aerodynamic transitions here.

Interior

For the new Cherie Tiggo 8 Pro 2021 model year, high-quality interior materials, ergonomic interior elements and very comfortable seating are prepared in which it is easy to make even a long journey.

Control and management bodies

Most of the functions available for this model can be activated using one of the touchscreen displays that make up the dashboard, or a touchscreen on the central tunnel, placed on the console.

The upper part of the dashboard is occupied by nice air ducts, then there are «twists» of the climate system, and already at the transition to the tunnel — a very small number of physical switches.

The tunnel itself begins with the technical part, where you can find a joystick for switching the operating modes of the box, adjusting washers and a small depression for small things. Then there are several organizers, as well as an armrest with a fairly spacious refrigerator inside.

Seats and trunk

The car, depending on the configuration, will have five or seven seats of a very comfortable shape, containing soft filling and equipped with an abundance of adjustments. The front row will receive precise electrical adjustments, solid side support, heated and even ventilated seats.

The list of options for second and third row seats is less, but there is a lot of space even for adult passengers and there is a pleasant possibility of reclining the back. If the car has only five seats, the rear passengers will sit on a very comfortable sofa with a folding center armrest.

As for the volume of the luggage compartment, it will vary from 200 to almost 2000 liters if both rows of seats are folded.

Specifications

The new Chinese crossover has slightly increased in size, reaching a length of 4.7 meters. The ground clearance of the car has also grown to a solid 200 mm.

Chery Tiggo 8 Pro 2021 will be equipped with a 1.6-liter gasoline power plant with a capacity of 186 «horses». Together with this motor, a seven-speed «robot» will work, transmitting forces to the front axle.

As the test drive showed, the novelty will perfectly cope with urban and highway operating conditions, quickly pick up speed and drive. At the same time, fuel consumption will decrease to an average of 7.2-7.4 liters per 100 kilometers.

Options and prices

The starting price of the car will be slightly more than 1.7 million rubles. All additional options are estimated at another 120 thousand units of the Russian currency.

Sales start in Russia

In China, the premiere of a large crossover has already taken place in the fall of 2020. And the release date in Russia is scheduled for the second half of next, 2021.

Competitors such as the Skoda Kodiak, Hawail F7, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Outlander and Peugeot 5008 came closest to the novelty.
