The predecessor of the new version of the electric hatchback Chevrolet Bolt EV 2021 in a short time became a nominee for several honorary titles and titles.
According to the specialists of the General Motors concern, in the category of electric cars, the new model has every reason to claim the status of the car of 2021.
The novelty of the lineup initially demonstrates a proportional ratio of cost and quality, a high level of road comfort and safety.
Exterior
The new body of the hatchback differs from the earlier model by futuristic touches in the body design, the panoramic format of the side windows, the drag coefficient reduced to 0.308 Cx.
In the photo in frontal projection, the new generation electric car attracts attention:
• the minimum difference in the angles of inclination of the windshield and the short embossed bonnet;
• diamond-shaped configuration combined with running lights and direction indicators by blocks of LED lens optics;
• compact size decorated with brand symbols of the upper front lining.
The design and layout properties of the lower segment include rounded bumper tips with integrated combined sidelights, gloss black perimeter of the lower ventilation duct and a stepped profile of a small-sized metal body kit.
The lack of decorative chrome is compensated by a variety of ribbed sports and wave bodywork.
The new Chevrolet Bolt EV 2021 hatchback looks stylish, presentable and sporty in an equally advantageous side view. In stock:
• massive rear pillars creating an optical effect of a floating roof;
• striking contrast of the narrow chrome frame and black pillars of the side windows;
• original mirrors and muscular reliefs of the body sidewalls.
In the profile design of the novelty, an unusual combination of a protective plastic skirt typical for SUVs and a low sports ground clearance with a height of only 115 mm is used. The exterior surrounds are complemented by an interesting two-tone design of five-spoke wheels.
The design of the stern shows the characteristic features of the crossover layout. In sight:
• ribbed edge of the spoiler supplemented with stop lights;
• combination of an inclined window and a vertical oval plane along the lower edge of the tailgate;
• complex shape and original branded graphics of massive lanterns.

The interior decoration of the five-seater salon is dominated by practical and functional minimalism, complemented by bold exclusive developments of branded specialists.
The range of finishing materials includes high-quality and beautiful fabrics, artificial leather and impact-resistant environmentally flawless plastic.
The front panel, decorated with stepped embossed accents, includes an oval format digital instrument cluster and a block contour of the center console with a 12-inch media command display and two ventilation deflectors.
In the lower part of the dashboard, a control panel for quick activation and adjustment of the cabin microclimate is registered.
The small tunnel includes a technical sector, a nominal list of organizers for its class and an armrest that combines the functions of a mini-refrigerator cover.
The new version of the hatchback received advanced characteristics of technical and electronic equipment, including a modern multimedia complex, active and passive safety systems.
Reinterpreted by the Chevrolet Bolt EB 2021, the pilot seats offer full lumbar support, a state-of-the-art set of adjustments, heated and ventilated seats.
The rear sofa for three seats compensates for the lack of additional service with increased volumes of personal space, adjustable backrest tilt and the ability to transform the middle seat into a wide and comfortable armrest.
The folded back «gallery» increases the standard boot volume from 478 to an impressive 1603 liters. The compact «dock» is located in the floor recess.
Specifications
According to the European classification, the electric hatchback belongs to the B-class car segment. Its dimensions in proportional ratios of 4166 x 1765 and 1595 mm in the new version are left without updates.
The front-wheel drive chassis is adapted to the layout properties of the G2XX platform with a base of 2600 mm, a combined MacPherson strut and torsion bar suspension.
The asset is the presence of an anti-roll bar, disc brakes and effective operational safety systems.
The electric drive consists of a three-phase motor 204 HP / 360 Nm, powered by a modular battery with an energy capacity of 60 kW / h.
An independent test drive confirmed the time to reach the first hundred of 7 seconds, a maximum speed of 145 km / h and a run length of up to 320 km.
The charging terminal is capable of restoring full battery capacity in 9 hours.
In forced mode, the process takes 30 minutes.
Options and prices
At the initial stage, the new Chevrolet Bolt EV 2021 model year is announced in the basic version, costing from 37 thousand dollars.
The price can be adjusted taking into account the number and functionality of additional options.
Competing models
Opel Ampera-e, BMW i3 or Volkswagen ID.3 models of the same class are rivals.
