Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2023.

The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is still in the testing phase. Apparently, the most interesting phase of testing is going on now.

The American muscle car was spotted in Germany on the north loop of what was once the most dangerous race track in the world, the Nürburgring.

Let it not surprise you, because this track has so iconic status that no self-respecting automaker will not release a new model for sale until they know how long it takes to pass the northern loop.

Developers announced the upcoming Chevrolet Corvette Z06 test back in August, and now it finally happened.

Rumor has it that the Z06 is another version of the C8.R race car.

Under the hood is supposedly a 5.5-liter atmospheric V8 with two overhead camshafts and a flat crankshaft.

It is reported to have about 617 horsepower. The transmission is from Tremec, presumably in a magnesium case.

And judging from the video taken during testing — the gears can shift very quickly.

The Z06 has a more aggressive body with a larger front splitter. The holes in the rear fenders are even larger than on the standard Corvette.

At the stern, four exhaust pipes emerge from the center of the tail. We haven’t had a chance to look inside the Z06 yet.

Given the car’s focus on performance, it’s safe to expect reinforced seating and possibly sporty trim such as polished metal or carbon fiber.

There are indications that Chevy is offering an additional performance package for the Z06, which will include items such as a large fender, sticky tires, and possibly a number of other details that are not easily spotted.

Some cars in testing do not have these components at all. The Z06 will be officially unveiled on October 26, 2021, but will only go on sale as a 2023 model.

This suggests an appearance at dealers in mid-2022.
