Chevrolet is currently working on four versions of the Corvette, with the Z06 coming first, followed by the ZR1, E-Ray and the Zora hybrid.

The «hot» modification of the Z06 will feature an aerodynamic «tail» with large air intakes and a wing, a different arrangement of the exhaust pipes, a sports suspension, improved brakes, and an electronically controlled rear differential.

According to preliminary data, the Z06 will be driven by a 5.5-liter «aspirated» V8 with two overhead camshafts, developing about 650 horsepower and 813 Nm of torque and capable of spinning up to 9000 rpm.

However, there is another opinion about the power plant of the Z06: the Detroit Free Press suggests that the slogan «The street will never sound the same» (The street will never sound the same), which ends the teaser, may hint at an electric motor.

This version is supported by the fact that General Motors, which promises to release 30 new electric cars in 2025, has so far presented only a few models: a pickup and SUV Hummer EV, a new cross-version of the Chevrolet Bolt, and a Cadillac Lyriq.

On the way is an electric version of the Chevrolet Silverado, which will share the platform with the Humvee, and another full-size battery-powered pickup, possibly under the familiar name Sierra.

In addition, a completely «green» version of the iconic model, which can accelerate to 321 kilometers per hour, is on the way.

The premiere of the new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will take place in the fall — more than two years after the debut of the standard eighth generation Corvette.

The novelty can be presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which is scheduled for the end of November.

The Corvette Z06 will resemble the C8.R racing coupe (pictured) with a similar front bumper design with distinctive L-shaped elements and a large center air intake.

The Z06 will also have a wing, but a smaller and complex shape, like the Koenigsegg supercars.

Rumored to share the racing Corvette C8.R with the Z06 and the engine. This is a naturally aspirated V8 5.5 unit with a flat crankshaft and direct injection, adapted for installation in a civilian vehicle.

It is expected that on the «plug» the motor will develop a little more than 600 hp, while on the racing coupe the return reaches 507 hp.

Together with the G8, the Americans will fit a modernized eight-speed preselective «robot» Tremec, familiar to us from the base Corvette C8.

The debut of the supercar should take place in early 2021. The estimated price is from $ 85 thousand (5.9 million rubles). A basic C8 in the States costs at least $ 59,995 (4.2 million).
