Cupra Tavascan 2024.

The Spaniards have declassified the commercial version of the Cupra Tavascan electric crossover.

Seat S.A. presented a commercial version of the Cupra Tavascan electric crossover.

It got its name in honor of a small village located in the Pyrenees near the French border.

In terms of exterior design, the production-ready off-road vehicle turned out to be in many ways similar to the 2019 model of the same name.

It is designed in the same design style and has similar body proportions.

The model has a very aggressive front end with spectacular air intakes and predatory matrix headlights.

The latter are notable for the luminous DRL triangles. Plus, the car’s logo on the nose is highlighted.

The novelty is characterized by the presence of a muscular hood, blackened front roof pillars and visually interconnected rear lights.

On the bottom of the body there are glossy black lining. Depending on the configuration, the car can be put on wheels with a diameter of 19 to 21″.

Interestingly, in the Tavascan cabin, instead of the center console, there is a massive jumper.

In turn, the front panel is characterized by the presence of unusual ventilation deflectors (in the photo they have a noticeable bronze edging).

The car is equipped with a compact tidy and a 15.0-inch touchscreen multimedia system.

The climate control is controlled from the touch «sliders», and the transmission — from the right steering column lever.

There are large buttons on the steering wheel for switching between driving presets. For a surcharge, you can order an advanced Sennheiser audio system with 12 speakers.

In terms of technology, the Cupra Tavascan 2024 is the closest relative of such electric cars as the Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback, Skoda Enyaq Coupe and Volkswagen ID.5.

The Spanish crossover is based on the MEB platform. It reaches a length of 4,644 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,766 mm. Its width and height are 1,861 and 1,597 mm, respectively.

The base model is rear-wheel drive and has a single new-generation electric motor that produces 286 hp. (545 Nm).

But the older version of the VZ is additionally equipped with an auxiliary unit in front — for 109 forces (134 Nm).

In the all-wheel drive modification, the peak power of the motors reaches 340 «mares», and the electronics can flexibly vary their output depending on road conditions.

Both versions are equipped with a 77 kWh traction battery. On a rear-wheel drive car, it is enough for 550 km of run, and on an all-wheel drive car — for 520 km. For a surcharge, a battery thermoregulation system with a heat pump is offered.

It is reported that the Tavascan VZ is capable of accelerating from zero to hundreds in 5.6 seconds. By the way, this is the best result among other crossovers built on the MEB platform.

The base model has an adaptive suspension with a sports preset, as well as a steering mechanism with a variable gear ratio.

It is curious that the Cupra Tavascan will be the first model of the Spanish brand and VW in particular, which will be produced in China and then delivered to Europe and some other markets.

At the moment, preparations for production are still underway in China, so sales of the crossover will begin only in the twenty-fourth.

The price tag for the model has not been announced, but it is likely that at least 50,000 euros will be requested for it (4.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
