Dodge Charger Daytona SRT 2024.

The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT 2024 showed the future of oil cars.

It is a concept Dodge Charger Daytona SRT — an electric muscle car, the production version of which will later replace the current Dodge Challenger coupe.

And now the Americans promised that the new Charger will stand apart from «boring electric cars» the world has already got used to.

They say this battery coupe «drives like Dodge, looks like Dodge and feels like Dodge».

It is really not necessary to argue with the statement about appearance. The new Dodge Charger Daytona SRT is styled like the classic 1968-1970 Charger.

For the electric car even revived a triangular emblem called Fratzog, which was used on Dodge from 1962 to 1976.

The concept has 21-inch wheels and a panoramic roof. But it also has a couple of non-obvious features.

First, strictly speaking, it’s not a coupe, but a three-door liftback: the trunk lid rises along with the rear window.

This butter-car has an enviable practicality: having folded backs of rear seats, here it is possible to transport bulky cargo or long objects.

And secondly, the nose of the car is unusual. The upper rectangular air intake, on the contour of which there is a belt of running lights, does not lead to the under-hood.

Getting into this slot, the air stream rises up to the hood: the developers called this front anti-wing R-Wing.

There is no retro air in the cabin at all. There is a 16-inch curved dash screen in front of the driver.

The center display of the 12.3-inch media system is turned 10 degrees to the driver, and in addition there is a projection screen.

The buttons on the front panel, steering wheel and even on the doors are touch-sensitive, but the transmission control selector remains analog.

On the central tunnel under the cover there is a button to start the power plant.

Alas, there is not much information about electrics. It is stated that the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT has an 800-volt electric system called Banshee and four-wheel drive, but the number and power of electric motors is not specified.

Some sort of «multi-speed» eRupt transmission is announced, with an electro-mechanical shifting system that can mimic the jerkiness of a traditional transmission during hard acceleration.

There are driving modes Auto, Sport, Track and Drag, as well as a PowerShot preset for short-term power boost, which is activated by a button on the steering wheel. The brakes are six-piston mechanisms.

The developers promise that the electric Charger will be more dynamic than the current petrol Dodge Hellcat variants, which have a compressor V8 with at least 727 hp.

Also, the electric car will be just as loud! To imitate the sound of the exhaust, the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system is installed: an amplifier and speakers are installed in the rear, which can produce sound volume up to 126 dB. However, with a deliberately synthetic base.

However, it is not necessarily that the electric Dodge-branded muscle car will be exactly the same.

It will be at least a year and a half (or even more) before the start of production, in fact, the present petrol Challanger will stay on the conveyor till the end of 2023.
